Why is the map called World Map?

Why is the map called World Map? Eve larger than one world. Shouldn't it be like Galaxy map?

Like the star map? could give some more info last time i checked the in game map was called the star map and the solar system map respectably

Well the word 'world' can also be defined as the whole of everything in existence. Since everything that exists in EVE is what you see on the 'world map', it makes sense that the map of New Eden is called the 'world map'.

It can also be a meta-game thing, referring to all of new eden as the game world.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

Eve world is not galaxy sized. It's only about a hundred light years across, not much of a galaxy.

It's pretty much a star cluster, so the 'world map' could easily be called a cluster ****

The dictionary definition of "apple" can mean a tree. An "apple pie" is not a pie made from a tree.

…because the world we live on on a day-to-day basis is a single planet. The world capsuleers live in on a day-to-day basis is an entire star cluster. Their world map would most likely be far more concerned with the different stars in that cluster than the different continents on a single planet (because what kind of lowlife sets his foot on a planet… I mean, really!).

A star map is a map of many star systems, therefor a world map can be a map of many worlds.

The map in game allows you to see a list of each world in a popup if you hover over a star, so technically it is also a world map.
