Last night I decided to clean up my assets so I stripped the fittings from about 15 of my ships that I don't really use anymore and sold the modules and ships. Unfortunately as an afterthought I was wondering if I could have given them out to new players. How is this done? Do you just have someone meet you at a station where the ships are and transfer them somehow? Thx for any info on how to do this.

Trading them is station is one way of doing it. When both of you are docked in the station, right cliking the other persons portrait should show a "trade" option. It opens a window where you can put the stuff you want to give and once both of you have accepted the trade it goes through.

Another option is to simply create a contract for the stuff and make it private, so only the person you want to see it can accept it. I think it costs you 10,000 ISK, but the advantage is, that you can set it up when it suits you and he can pick it up when it suits him. There is no need for you both to be in the same location or even online at the same time for it to work.

A third method would be to meet at some prearranged location in space. You eject from the ship, and he boards it.

However, doing this to a noob will either (a) set off alarm bells if he's smart, or (b) make him trusting of the next guy who comes along to scam him ("here, let's swap ships for a minute and I'll show you something...")

Trial accounts can't accept contracts so that only works if recipient has paying account.

(Strangely you can make private contract where recipient has trial account - but he can never accept it.)

If you did happen to feel like donating any 'neglected' to a newish (3 weeks) capsualeer in future please look my direction. I'd he eternally grateful :-D Just thinking he a good idea to to a 'pass it on' scheme - once I advance then I could pass ships to new players behind me :-)
