Just got a new computer and installed EVE. It runs the first time, but uses an unusually large amount of cpu and ram.

When I close the client and come back later, the client only goes so far as the char. selection screen. At that point the sound cuts out for a second and then the game crashes to desktop with the message "CCPexe file has stopped working".

I've cleared my caches, done fresh installs, used the repair tool, and tryed it in safemode and still can't log in; unless I completely erase the client from my PC and reinstall.

i also have the same issue with the same computer, although with the I7 chip.

it had been working fine until last night, now it can only stay loggin in for 10 - 15 seconds max, after which i get the same message, "CCPexe file has stopped working"

the launcher stays open with no problems, the client can sit at the login screen with no problems, as soon as i login and get to character selection screen it happens.

I've already poked our live team about this issue last week, will check today what the status is.

In the meantime could you guys please post your Bugreport IDs so I can make sure they are sorted correctly.

Please make sure there is a DxDiag report attached.

You can also check the Bug Reporting page on EVElopedia for further information about bug reporting.

Getting exact same issues with a new alienware x51. Client has been crashing a lot (never been able to maintain dual client for more than a few minutes, single client mode also crashes extensively), and after today's patches I can't even get past the character log-in screen much without getting a crash.

I've updated graphics drivers and run the repair tool. Now it crashes more often...

Intel core i7
NVIDIA GeForce GTX555

UPDATE: yay! possible fixed this horrible bug. DISABLE THE 3rd Party AlienFX access.

I went on google, and there are comments of the alienfx screwing up other video games besides eve.

I can now verify no (current) eve crashes (even with dual client!), and heck I can even get my World of Tanks to load up properly (for once).

Same issue, will try disabling the Alienware fx and will update after some time on.

Please update us on this issue. I just bought the x51, and will be quite ticked off if I can not play.

This seem to have gotten lost in my last post.

Can somebody verify that disabling the 3rd Party AlienFX access is a viable workaround?

I will gladly do so in two weeks when I get my X51, but hopefully someone will beat me to it.

YUP! That nails the issue, but it must be specific to the version of the AlienFX tool, cuz my alienware m17x does not have that issue.. But the x51 HATES my guts with the 3rd party access enabled...

Disable the 3rd party access guys, that nails the issue!

8 clients running strong now!
