Log-In Screen All Black

So last evening I participated in a Rote Kapelle fleet-op through Syndicate. Upon returning to TXW I docked up, wnt to the "esc" screen, cleared my cache, waited for Eve to restart and then exited Eve.

An hour or so later I attempted to log in. I would get to the Eve Online Launcher screen, click "PLAY" and then the game would load, taking me to the Log-In screen ... except the Log-In screen would never appear. It just remains black, with an arrow cursor. Even after sitting and waiting for 20 minutes.

When I mouse the cursor over where the Log-In and Password should be typed the cursor changes to the "ready to type" icon, but when I type nothing shows up.

I've double checked all possible issues on my end.

Connection - Good.
Graphics Card - Good. (No problems running any other games, or graphics intensive programs).
Hardware - (Processor and RAM) all Good.
Heating/Cooling - Good.

I ended up deleting Eve and re-downloading. It took two "corrupted" attempts before finally on the third try I was able to re-install. After all the checks were done and the game installed I made it to the "Play" window. I clicked "Play" and was taken to the account/password page.

Once again, all black. Nothing except my cursor arrow.

Once again I double checked all possible issues on my end. My computer is working just fine with no issues. It runs every game and graphics intensive program that I can throw at it, except Eve.

My system is as follows:

Apple iMac - 27"
Processor - 2.93GHz Intel Core i7 (Quad Core)
Memory - 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Card - ATI Radeon HD 5750, 1024MB

So, I have to say, after running every diagnostic that I can, including other games and programs, there is nothing wrong with my computer. Ergo something is wrong with Eve.

Please advise.

Additional information:

OS X v. 10.6.8

Hitting the "esc" key doesn't work either. The esc menu doesn't come up and/or doesn't show.

I can Command-Tab back and forth between the black screen and regular OS X screen.

Just FYI:

CCP just charged my CC on 05/02/2012

Withdrawal / EVE ONLINE REYKJAVIK 101 IS Date 05/03/12 **********acct. info deleted****** $72.27

After reading through all of the Mac bug reports with some of the half answers we Mac users have been getting ... especially stuff like 'that problem has been solved, but the fix won't be deploying in tomorrows patch' ... I think maybe I'll give you guys notice that if this isn't fixed within 24hours then I want my 72 dollars refunded.

I'll come back and pay to play once you fix it and ask me to come back. Kind of getting sick of such a glitchy game, especially right after a new patch. I mean come on, do you guys not test this thoroughly before deploying? I think as a paying customer we deserve a bit more customer service than what I've been seeing on the Mac forums.

Users/username/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/settings/core_public__.dat

Delete that file. Should fix your problem.

Can we confirm what that actually does?

No idea what the file contains; it's some preference file, though. That entire p_drive folder is all settings and local stuff and can be removed. I deleted the core_public file some time ago to fix this problem myself and have had no issues.

I had the same problem a few times.
I used to solve it by deleting the whole Users/username/Library/Application Support/EVE Online folder. This fix the problem but make you lose all your preferences and settings (better save those overviews before deleting the folder...), with the EVE launching as if it was the first time you play.
I never tried what Invisusira is suggesting. I'll give it a try the next time i've got this issue. If you try that and it works, let us know.
