Aura gave me stuff i cant use (caldari alt chr)

Rolled a caldari alt, and after getting the rookie ship...you then get a gun and shield, well instead of the civilian stuff i was expecting, aura gave me :

Light Electron Blaster I - which i cant afford ammo for...
Small Shield Booster I - which i cant even fit...

Is this the norm for Caldari ?

I can't see how this is a problem when you get the civilian blaster and miner as standard on the rookie ship and the first noobie mission or two should give you enough for ammo and the skillbook...

EDIT: I'm pretty sure you're even given the skillbook for the booster a couple of aura's missions later Cool

Oh dear, someone wasn't paying attention.

The tutorial tells you to start training for the shield booster right after telling you have to WASD around the CQ. It should take only a few minutes to do so.
And the tutorial also hands out ammo for the blaster once you're in space.

There's a few other oddities with the tutorial, but the ones you listed aren't part of it.

ahh, sorted out what i did wrong :)

I didnt have CQ switched on, so 'goto your hanger and launch your pod' I just launched me pod....so i ended up with the rookie ship but no civ gear, and obviously missed other stuff as well.
