Corp advertisements at the log in screen are pretty old, what are you bitching about it for?

For the third time, I wasnt. I DIDNT KNOW.

I know thats hard to grasp but try.
I asked a question. What are you bitching about it for?

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

I agree, but this thread isnt directly attacking the CCP - GOONS situation and hasn't hit 28 pages so again Roll certainly doesn't help their argument when the thread gets locked

Red vs. Blue is a great concept and I support any advertisement of it. Heck any newbie doing the combat training mission line should be given a mission to go join Red vs. Blue.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

RvB didn't ask for an advertisement, nor did we pay anything for it. CCP asked RvB's CEO if we had any problems with them putting the notice on the log-in screen, and then went and did it on their own.

Guess if you ask for the thread to get locked they wont because the ISD has decided to funnel all the ppl that have found a need to ***** about something thats apparently been in the game forever into the thread where I was just trying to ask a ******* question -.-

Can I get a Goon to ask? Send them an IM?

Hey tell them to lock the thread. Its getting derailed by the ISDs lol

So if what everyone else says is true, they are playing favorites. Everyone else has to pay you get it for free.

Or are they not talking about the corp?

Advertising corps that introduce new players to combat and core game mechanics is a very good thing. It minimizes the number of people who join, don't figure anything out, get bored, and quit in frustration.

Dunno, I dont see it. They see the ad, dont know what it is and will do the above before they even figure out how to find the corp anyways if thats what theyre gonna do.

inb4 RvB does the appropriate thing and starts scamming noobs thus making CCP culpable for their shattering grief

Much better than never even realizing there are enormous groups of players who would welcome them with open arms and give them the knowledge and tools they need to go and have fun in EVE their own way.

SO MANY people try EVE and burn out fast. I've known dozens.

I have too. Usually before they ever know about corps, banners or no.
If its true that this has been in the game forever essentially.

I'd like to hear that from your CEO. Because if its true, then the complaint is TRUE and REASONABLE.

edit:
Recruiting is difficult. Noobs are an important resource and channeling them to RvB (through ads) and E-UNI (by adding them to the Help channels) is definitely NOT fair.

CCP always has its eyes open for extraordinary community building enterprises and we won't hesitate to shine a light on them when we find them. We will highlight large training corporations with good reputations whose doors stand open to all, especially the ones who promise to help new players get past the learning curve and become productive citizens of New Eden. We also won't hesitate to withdraw our support for such organizations should they fall short of what we thought them to be.

We will also use social media and other channels at our disposal to draw attention to good community projects, tools and programs made by players to help players, EVE music videos, PVP videos, short films, good blogs or well made podcasts.

There are a lot of people in the community who go the extra mile to help the community grow and prosper, and if we can nudge their efforts along without interfering in their operation, I think that's a good thing.

p.s. I also cleaned this thread of off topic posts, trolling, personal attacks and bickering. Please keep your comments constructive.

I think they advertised Eve Uni before. They're both pretty good newbie corps, I don't see the fuss.

hello

Why i have "ad" from O2 Telefonica (sadly thats not only O2) over whole launcher and i must click on the miniature "close" button for playing EVE ???
I realy start thinking about transfer to non-comercial OS. That will be only solution for removal adverts.

Why don't you advertise Goons? As they bring in so much content into the game, and are always the go-to in describing what EvE is all about.

Do the Goons really need advertising?

There's no week, where you can't find at least - let's say - 2 forum threads with "Goon" somewhere in the headline.
