I'm sure someone is going to call me a newbie whiner that should go back to WoW for posting this, but here goes.

EVE online puts a HUGE emphasis on joining a corp and interacting with others, yet my 2 months of experience playing the game and reading the forums have shown me that this game is mostly comprised of unfriendly bigoted people who would rather insult you or pod you than actually be nice to you.

No wonder CCP thinks that "what goonswarm wants" is the same as "what the player-base wants": the only players left on EVE are either goonswarm members, or newbies. All the old players have given up in disgust after loosing 2 plexes worth of ship, fittings and implants to a single ganker in a 7 mil (fully reimbursed) ship

It really comes down to this, do you want eve to grow and add more players? or do you want eve to belong to goonswarm? you can't have both. Unless people stand up and say "the goons do not represent me", this is going to turn into GooN Online instead of EvE Online. All the easy care-bear targets will be gone, and the only players left will be PvPers (just like lowsec/nullsec is now)

By invading highsec, goonswarm destroys highsec. I'm sure the "goal" (if there was one) was to drive more players to lowsec, but they really just drove highsec players off the game entirely

I now look forward to the 4 pages of goonswarm members insulting me and the week of random people following me around in-game stealing my loot and ganking me, just for speaking my mind.

just letting you know that a hauler loaded with two plexes dying to a destroyer is not indicative of a problem with the game

Oh yes indeed eve is exactly what you say and so are the goons.

They're just a bunch of antisocial unfriendly bigoted people in an alliance of several thousand people coming from multiple countries.

wow

always amaze me that people think null is just full of goons
goons might be the largest power bloc at the moment and indeed a very powerful and respected alliance (never said trusted) but eve is forever changing
null is full of small are large corps/alliances every alliance corp i have ever been in (and iv never joined goons) as been friendly and quite fun to be around
also people in goons tell me that goons/test is a very friendiy socaly active place to be.

eve is what you make of it, stop wining on and on and on about how its not this and that, go out and make the game its your own experience

burn jita, wonderful event i loved watching it and seeing some dumb people die
hulkageddon again love watching it and the mahem it makes

very social events id say 1000's of people getting to togever to share there joy of blowing up crap... this game at its core is about blowing up stuff, if no one blows up crap no one makes any money to blow up more crap with...

you could not improve on the blanince in this game any more

also im O/C at the moment so i will have to end with a troll

DEAL WITH IT

Bolded a couple points there. I am not a goon or a newb, and yet here I am. I also don't lose 2 plex worth of ships to suicide ganking because I am not stupid. It's pretty easy to NOT get suicide ganked.

The most carebearingest bastards are in nullsec btw. You obviously don't know that.

I'll stand up and say "the goons do not represent me" and, you're still wrong.

and i suppose, can i haz ur stuff?

No, not a hauler with 2 plexs in it.

I was talking about someone loosing a 500mil fitted hulk and 800mil worth of implants (about 2 plexes worth) in a 1.0 system. Not because the belt was dangerous, but because there are throw-away alts in fully re-imbursed destroyers gaming the clone system, with a guaranteed 10 mil profit if they kill the hulk, even if they get zero loot.

What can one say to the OP? ... You are not alone!

Now back to my own issue, which is what I want to eat tonight. I have fish on my mind ...

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Grilled hamburgers **** ya.

On topic: I personally like the goons better than anyone I met on WoW. Not saying I like the goons but, well there you have it.

I recall one night in a nightclub called the matrix, there I was... Mother of god there I am! Holy f**k.

Long as Goonswarm exists, people like you will have someone at which you can direct your misplaced anger.

In a sandbox, grudges create content. If this were a themepark, sure, trolling would simply be an irritation you could do nothing about except /ignore. Here, you can create a force to stand up to them, if you like. It's not the games fault if you're so antisocial that you can't manage to get the people together.

Now that you know the truth, feel free to save this post and copy/paste it into future threads that are exactly the same as this one.

Edit: Oh, and there are quite a few friendly people out there. You don't have to trust them with your **** in order to work together.

Hello, hello again.

I think that goons are excellent roleplayers. They're just playing the bad guys but I genuinely think that they're not as alienated as they try to show.

I also think that CCP is hurting himself by neglecting the safety of HIgh-sec. The security hit should be extended to each and every account and character of the suicide ganker. We all like risk and consequences, don't we?

About the forums, you'll soon realize that if you ignore the 2 or 3 trolls it's quite a funny place to roam. And if you leave GD, you may even find useful informations.

My in-game experience has been quite different. I've mostly found friendly and helpful blokes, even the ones whith whom I fought.

oh, right, a 500 million isk untanked ship that is AFK dying to destroyers is not indicative of a problem in the game

I would sure like to make 10 mil for 10 minutes of work, it sure beats running missions for 1 mil isk each. But unlike a lot of the people on EvE and in the real world, I don't feel that easy money should come at the expense of others. I guess actually having a sense of ethics puts me at a disadvantage here.

Which isn't to say I'm opposed to fighting people, just do it the right way. There is a huge difference between challenging someone to a pistol dual (war dec), and shooting someone in the back of the head with a sniper rifle (suicide gank)
