Why not establish a minimum faction standing for recruits? Say, 3.0 minimum? Would that negatively affect your recruitment drive? What requirements do you guys have for recruitment (and others, for that matter)?

Ideally if you wanted to mass recruit folks, I'd say it's good to bring on anyone that doesn't have negative standing and help them mission/tutorial/datacenter up their standings as a service to folks. Shows initiative from the corp instead of just "Oh, you don't meet x criteria, you aren't welcome". At least from my viewpoint I'd feel better about the corp I was joining if they were willing to help me meet the criteria instead of just passing me along. And you can recruit more people en masse that way and be sure that you've passed on that knowledge for them in the future.

_It's very simple, really. If you see Tengus on scan, they are ratting. If you see a shitload of Tengus, the Russians are blobbing. If you see Proteuses on scan, they will be on top of you in about a second. If you see a shitload of Proteuses, the big boys are having a goodfight. _

My corp has run into a dilemma recently. We are in the Minmatar militia. We're recruiting at an accelerating rate, but this has caused our Minmatar Republic standings to drop significantly. It won't be long until they are so low that we would be in danger of getting booted from FW. I really do not want to close recruitment, or restrict it to only those with already good standings.

To counteract this, all new members are advised to run FW complexes and missions as they can. Still, it does not appear to be enough.

So, directed at the bigger alliances or corps in FW: how do you keep your standings afloat in the middle of a recruitment drive? Is there something that the directors can do to help, or is it just a "everyone go plexing all day everyday" campaign? What would you suggest?

Have them run all their Minmatar tutorial schools (3 schools, 5 agents each). Some advice:

1) Train Social to 3 or 4, 5 if you're dedicated
2) On the scanning tutorial agent, there are almost always contracts up for the Proof of Discovery items. Means you only have to undock once to run the entire tutorial chain.
3) Train Connections, too, as this will help
4) All in all, if you're dedicated, you can have all three schools done in an afternoon.

If you want extra kudo standings, do the Gallente ones, too. With Social 5 and Connections 5, I had my Gallente/Minmatar standings to 5 when it was all said and done.

A poster above also mentioned the tags for datacenters. It costs around 500m to buy out all the tags you need (at least it did for my Gallente tags) for your faction. Obviously double that for your allies faction, too, assuming they're priced comparably. Then there's always farming them...

Just a reminder social skills do nothing for republic standings (with regards to Militia) as only raw standings are taken into account. ;)

Not arguing the point, just trying to make sure that's correct. After Social V, running all the tutorial agents for my faction and allied faction, my raw standings were at 3.8. After completing Blood Stained Stars epic arc, they're around 4 something. That's raw standing, not after Connections.

Get an high standing members to grab missions then run them as a fleet with low standings members (and more importantly, hand them in as a fleet).

That will get those standings skyrocketing.
This

All vets with lvl 4 agents should be running missions with the new guys and splitting the LP and standings, was how we always did it. Takes app. 2 weeks for a new guy to have access to lvl 4 agents ( and associated standings)if he is running missions daily with a guy pulling lvl 4 FW missions.

Once you get a critical mass of people with good standings and as people run the lvl 4 missions, it becomes less and less of a problem. We've got about 40 people and all of them have pretty solid standings. That being said though, it sure was a problem for a while there - we just made the plex and grind standings.

If people actually ran the L4 missions that would probably solve itself, but we are also a newbie corp, which means that most people a) cannot solo the missions and b) do not have standings for the mission.

Plus it's always more fun to go suicide a Rifter into TMFED than running missions, so actual pew pew holds far more of a draw than missioning.

You are NOT going to get standings up if no time or effort is put into it, plain and simple.

Connections doesn´t help, but Social skill sure does help.

No, connections only helps with things like agent missions (the agents are based off of the total standing AFTER connections), but for raw standings, Social V and all 6 schools, plus the Sisters epic arc and doing the datacenters, REALLY puts you in primo standing. I'm anxious to finish all the datacenters and see where my standings end up falling.

Also, good to note (in case anyone reading didn't already know), 5.0+ faction standing after connections unlocks ALL lvl4 agents in the entire faction. Obviously if you have 5.0 standings using my above stated method, you probably have it for both you and your allies faction as well, opening up a HUGE amount of Lvl4 agents.

Something I've never looked into, though, is if Jump Clones are calculated after connections, and if so, are they calculated based on just the corporation's standings or does an 8.0 (wow) faction standing unlock them everywhere?

Probably already been mentioned, but why not throw them at the frontline in Rifters and have them run plexes. Go defensive at first is my suggestion.
