Piracy

I am curious about something.

If you are a pirate with terribly low sec status, how do you support yourself?

Meaning, all those little things you need on the market to fit ships. Many of those items are in high sec space to collect, how do you support yourself? Multibox? Alts? Is that the only way?

Due to a dumb miscalculation and a general aura of noobish'ness I find myself with a less then desirable sec status. I'm considering saying **** trying to repair it and staying on the fringe. Mainly because it is RIDICULOUSLY slow to fix.

So pirates, or you folk that are hated in high sec, how do you support yourself?

I am a noob still. My B-day might be a couple months ago but my actual game time probably amounts to little more then 5 weeks.

Thanks for any info or advice.

You have 2 more character slots on your account, make a hauling alt on one of those.

Make a shopping list, transfer ISK to your hauling alt, hauling alt buys and ships the stuff and then contract it to you where you can pick it up.

Most easy way to work around low sec status

There are also low sec hubs in every lowsec region but they are not always well known. As well as lowsec corps having their own logistics.

Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if you're in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. Pub Channel: Lost Souls Trading Post

I have high-sec friends do shopping and delivery for me. In return, I wave my epeen in front of my friends' "competition" and tell them to "go away."

I make all my ISK in low sec. I have an alt that hauls and sells it to/in high sec.

I've been in low sec most of my time on Eve (4 out of my 5 1/2 moths). Its doable but you have to be creative. A corp would be a very, very good idea.

Everyone here so far is right, you can use alts to haul for you, but if you join a decent corp they will probably have networks in place to get you what you need, or just buy it in Lowsec and pay a little more. Of course the easiest way to get what you need for fittings is to find a player, blow him up and pray to the loot gods he drops something you can use.

And so you know fixing sec status is really easy. I've done it 2 or 3 times now in only a couple of days. Stealth bomber, quite area of null-sec, Pop one Battleship rat in each system then fly to next system and repeat

It's not been nice, but thanks for using lube

To put it simply, many pirates have hauler-alts with access to all highsec systems in order to fund their fun and morally questionable activities. If you can't afford a second account, having a trial-alt in a large Cargo-Frigate would be advisable. Alternately, join a corp with a hauling network that can procure stuff for you. Or try joining an industry corp and steal from them. They don't need those combat ships, modules and ammo anyway.

It's not actually that hard to get ships out of highsec, even with low sec status - you can fly to a hub in a pod, as long as you're on the ball for people trying to pop you on gates - once there, buy your ship, throwing the normal fittings in the cargo, and put on an mwd+cloak (for when you jump into losec unscouted, google the mwd-cloak trick if you don't know it) and then fill the lows with at least two Warp Core Stabilizers and as many nanofibers as you can fit, throw some buffer in the mids, and you've got a fit that can get you safely out of most hubs bar Jita.

Before I had alts I ran all my lowsec ships out of Amarr this way, never had any problems if I wasn't being careless.

There are low-sec trade hubs, they aren't stacked like Jita but often have the essential pvp ships and mods. Many low/nullsec corps have a Jumpfreighter service that runs to Jita at least once a week, sometimes daily. What you do is put a market alt in Jita (can be 0 SP same account alt), transfer cash from your main to him, have him buy your stuff there, contract the stuff back to your main, then courier contract it to the JF corp/pilot to your home.

ISK wise there are many options, from DED sites, Sanctums, FW missions etc.
