I generally modify my orders every day or so; sometimes a few weeks between, and other 2-3 times a day over a short period. Maybe more. I don't .01 ISK you though, I just floor the prices. Big smile

Actually, what I don't get is why people try to beat me over 2-3 or maybe even 10-15 items that are generally fast moving. Just let the things sell and follow in behind. Someone like me isn't suddenly going to flood the market on that stock in the next day or two; it's just stuff getting cleared out because it's easier than moving it.

Happens to be a good time to clear out though.

Besides the 1 ISKing there are also the slimes who when , oh, Chiral structures are priced low Sell at 750 or something and some joker comes in with 120,000 units for 595, KILLING the item for weeks.

THAT is market PvP indeed and manipulation by those with too much ISK.

Bad for them in the end and bad for the game though.

Lets all give everything away for pennies at below cost.

EVE Market = Walmart vs Target sometimes.

But this is indeed a bit of a separate issue from the 1-ISKers and MArket bots.

Again I still don't know why they make us do the work to find these Bot Clowns when software can do it, or at least produce a list of 'candidates'.

There is definitely a market bot working the Medium Trimark Armor Pump II rig market in Amarr. It's very fun to crash his order down just above the highest buy order and scoop up his entire sell order to resale.

Bots aren't so bad once you find them and figure out how they work. I did report him as a bot 3 weeks ago, but, well CCP.

Can some one check Occator ship hull, it looks like there is a bot doing station buy orders, 1 single bot so it looks on the buy order on that item.

So, on the subjects of market bots and reporting them....

There is a nice feature that allows you to report a bot from the Show Info dialog, which is great, but what about market bots where the person in question is unknown. How does one report these without spending ISKies? What?

I guess those that update orders can sometimes be fast, but I'm sure they're not able to maintain such consistency when updating multiple orders.

The following person (but I suspect its a bot) is updating 3 orders each 4-5 seconds apart with the same value. This is happening consistently each time I update my order. Here is a screenie.

Whats my recourse?

Thanks. o7

It's broken and it's been broken for a long time and it'll be broken for some time to come.

It's not the bots, it's me ;). A lot of the time I genuinely find myself checking my orders 2-3 times per minute, and since I split my orders up, I'll always have an order which I can modify to 0.01 you Pirate.

I knew it was AMPAR manipulating the market.

I am very new to the game, well, sort of, long story short, friend who no longer plays advised me last year to login and do nothing but training while playing other games. So I trained for a few, eventually left and now I am back and back to training. But I ran across an article about station trading, hub trading, and new player trading so I have been doing a bit of each to see what all the fuss is about. In conclusion, trading is actually fun! I am foregoing all other training at the moment while I train up my trade skills. So to jump in on this post:

1. How can you tell the difference between a bot and player?

2. Due to funds, I typically will buy in small quantities and sell as I get the items, then babysit the items as much as possible while researching out other opportunites.

3. I typically use spreadsheet, but I am finding it not difficult to maintain (work at home project manager with high attention to detail) but I am not really finding a true need to use it so much however. So why do you use spreadsheets and maybe some how's, I'm just not seeing it simply because I am buying low and selling high including babysitting my orders with the .01 changes.

4. I've been in Amarr and Jita hubs thus far. I like Amarr cause there is less babysitting and higher initial profits, but I also like Jita because items move fast, less profit but quick turnover. IMO, quick turnover wins everytime simply because you don't know when a crash will affect an item, you don't know when an Industrialist will plop down his huge inventory, etc. Dodixie and Rens are next on my list.

5. Any tools you can recommend or should I just stick with the buy low sell high and continue to let my wallet do the tracking for me?
