Torneach has once again saved the day with the only thought out posts in the entire thread. While some people inch close to a true statement for reasons they probably don't know he has, through no generosity but personal motive, saved the thread.

I do not like carbonated drinks. I never figured out how people grew to find them tasty or refreshing.

It will show finally that socialism doesn't work, because eventually socialist governments always run out of other people's money...there will need to be a significant reduction in income tax and public spending, so that individuals have the resources to sort out their own pensions and medical care.

The probelms in euro land also show that some anglo-saxon financial reality is needed, rather that southern european profilagacy!

(I'm English but have always wanted closer European integration, and I do think we should have joined the euro when we had the chance, but now is not the time to do so)

I'm Armenian, so I'm an impartial observer but:

The U.S. came and fought for the allies in WWI, then it was the driving force behind french liberation in WWII, not to mention they and the USSR took down Hitler. Thirdly, the U.S. actually kind of broke one of its old rules about arms sales just to supply the U.K. with guns for their battle with the Nazi's...

Really, countries with more average income distribution have:
- less crime
- higher life expectancy
- less infant mortality
- are more happy
