...there's customs offices at each planet?

How'd they get there?

There's nowhere in the universe free from bureaucracy.

Here's the conspiracy theory:

They look an awful lot like the customs offices in K-space.

Sleepers occupied W-space for who knows how long.

Sleepers built customs offices.

Whoever built customs offices in K-space made them look like the sleeper customs offices.

Therefore, sleepers exist in K-space.

Maybe the customs office is made on the planet and launched by the command centre? That would make more sense.
They should rename the customs office to something else.. make it sound less like an empire owns it.

planetary spacepost maybe?

That bigass customs office created and launched by that tiny little command center?

Only one man can answer this...

Well they only appear on planets that have a command centre.

I guess you haven't been in wormholes, or even undocked have you?

Huh? The same way they get to a planet anywhere else, someone brought a CC and derped it down on the planet.

You love me don't you?

I found its other name "planetary cargo link".

If you were around when command centres first came out ... you would know this is true.
The customs office is only above planets that have command centres.

Of course that means almost every planet now.. but I assure you that there once was a time when you could fly around and see custom offices only at some of the planets (in low sec for example).

Here is a quote from this webpage:

Quote:
Space ports are spawned once a launch pad has been placed on that planet. That means, if ANYONE makes a launch pad you get a space port at that planet and all are using the same space port.

a pdf about PI

and a quote from it:

Quote:
A launchpad serves as a connection to the customs office in the orbit of the planet. If you
build one, the customs office in the orbit becomes accessible to you or it will even create
one if there isn't one already. You can export and import products with it. Launchpads don't
need to be bought on market.

Just incase I didn't make my point the first time.

Still the point is that there was such a thing as a planet without a customs office.
Thought maybe not now.

the point is this:

the reason there is custom office above a planet is because someone has put something on that planet.

and not that every planet has a customs office.

besides you can't have a launch pad without a command centre. So my point is still valid.

Without the command centre there would be no launch pad and without either you wouldn't have a customs office.

Just proving my point... and I don't have to attack you in anyway and/or put you down as well.
Feel free to respond any way you like.

Haha, yeah I remember thinking exactly the same thing when I popped my WH cherry. There I was, a tentative newbie having just scanned this WH down. I was so excited at "discovering" this "new space".

I poked my nose through, and - lo and behold "customs offices". WTF????

Bang went the illusion of it being "new" or "undiscovered" space Big smile Government bureacracy infests everywhere, apparently.

Setting up "customs offices" in WHs should have been a PI skill maybe?
