Burn Jita unrealistic and inconsistent

Yes, I'd love to be able to load tornados into my guns and shoot them at ships. Oh right, that is capital projectile artillery right? (•‿•)

Greetings capsuleer,

If I had to guess at the motives of the Caldari nation I would consider the following:


  • Capsuleers were fighting each-other
  • CONCORD intervenes in those battles
  • Jita was not affected or shot at, only other capsuleers
  • Trade was impacted
  • Replacement of ships, modules and losses massively boosted the subsequent income for the Caldari state


My guess would be that fundamentally the Caldari State is not there to protect capsuleers from other capsuleers. Their interests were not affected long term; in fact the Caldari State is potentially running at a profit from the subsequent replacement, taxes and fees.

Wars are profitable and if someone is not shooting at you, why would the State intervene?

Other than that nyx, you can't really load carriers or supercarriers in highsec.

Not bitter about Burn Jita, I wasn't there and it looked fun. But it just seems entirely unrealistic in game world / back story terms.

burn jita drives more traffic into jita.

destroyed vessels increases market demand in jita.

People supplying in jita, sell more goodies, prices soar.

Jita pays more taxes to concord / scc

burn jita is good, caldari and concord will not intervene except where they absolutely have to, in order to save face :)

Actually, in the game world it does make perfect sense. There is alot of fluff and stuff, but first, the caldari navy would have trouble countering the assault. They were out shipped and out gunned.

Could get into how concord works, but from my perspective, made sense since they were not targeting civilians or other non capsuleer vessels.

I agree with the op.

Caldari state should have been nerfed to misson spec stats and the same for Concord .

That way the players, Concord, and Caldari could have mixed up in Jita, along with the players getting caught up in the cross fire.

it would have been even better if the players conquered Jita and the Caldari would have been forced to try and light a cyno and warp their titan in their in attempt to restore order. with the added bonus their titan was still equipped with a dooms day.
Now that would have been awesome.

Again, as long as it's capsuleers shooting capsuleers, the lore says that CONCORD and the states really don't care. CCP might alter the mechanics that allow this kind of power projection, but that's another matter entirely.

Yeah, then as the other guy said theyre pulling away from the lore entirely anyways.
Dont get it though, why go all deep into the lore and the interconnection between the empires if anything WE do never affects them cause we're allowed to do whatever we want as far as they are concerned?
