Is FPS better with fullscreen or windowed?

im sorry if this has been answered before but i couldnt find it when i searched. do you generally get higher FPS in fullscreen or windowed mode? and how do u bring up the indicator to show your current FPS?

In theory fullscreen may give better FPS. In practice, "it depends." You can bring up your FPS meter in game with Ctrl + F then switch modes to check what works for you.
