for this price what gives more damage AND can be used in lvl4 missions?

So I think you, people, saying, I should use something like this?

And about AB - I fly missions that don't require it, but thanks for suggestion

this build is solid. i myself prefer CCCs over memory cells and the fourth faction heat sink can be replaced with t2 for a minimal loss of dps but also less shinyness. also, i prefer drone link augmentors over autotargeters but all of this is more a question of preference.

I should buy an Ishtar.

I would just shoot anything with my guns if they that far away that you need drone links. Only time I use my drones is if frigs get under 20km and the cruisers get closer than that.

Pith C-Type is currently the best mission booster IMO, only 40 mil more than a DG booster (cheapest faction booster) but quite significantly better, and the Piths are always better than the Gists in missions as even though those are more efficient they are hella expensive and the Pith has a larger boost amount which is what you want for pulsing.

Which is also why Semis are better on a Nightmare, gives you a cap buffer to shoot your guns and use your booster only to feed your shield booster.

RubyPortos fit is perfect, I'd change to the C-type Pith booster, and that actually requires AWU V so you can drop the AB if you need to.

Did you notice the Cap Booster? Cap Boosters mean that you do not need CCCs. SMCs give you more time for the booster to cycle when you need it. If you want better cap stability, another Laser Cap rig is better than a CCC anyway (you'd need a bigger PG implant though).

I did forget to mention, you need the 3% PG implant.

As for the specific flavor of Pith booster, do whatever. Higher end gives you a bit more wiggle room if you screw up, Lower end is cheaper and less gank magnetey.

Well, Let's say there is this situation: people found out i fly expensive ship, they want to gank me.
I am a Highsec missioner, so if they tackle me they get blown out to space.
They have to prevent me from warping off. This is when we get 2 situations:
a) some guy warps in a cloaked ship, WarpScrambles me, then other guys in Tornado'es warp in and kill me.
b) WarpScramble is a Concord worth offence, so they have to warp the Tornadoes to me and then WarpScramble + Kill me.

They can't warp to me directly, they have to use the WarpGate at the mission start. They warp there, I see them on Directional Scanner I warp out...

c) they get you as you come out of station or a gate and alpha through your 0 em resist

and yep their ships go boom, but they knew that well in advance

my nightmare had 4 faction heatsinks and I think everything else T2 (maybe cheap faction shield booster) tbh most missions I use it for I can gank everything before it can do significant damage, or I can burst tank it long enough that the damage isn't an issue. then again I have the advantage I can just swap ships to whatever is optimal for the mission.

He also forgot
d) You don't actually pay attention to your D-Scan enough to notice the nadoes incoming.
e) They have their "ninja salvager" bumping you to stop your alignment until the nadoes land a la Lowsec Super kills before HICs.

CCCs have several advantages over elutriation rigs:
- they make you cap-stable when not running tank which means less hassle with cap booster charges
- they do not increase your power grid demands, allowing you to replace the power grid implant with another cap implant
- they also make you cap stable with your tank and no guns running, so you are harder to gank unless you get alpha'ed

with the fit i'm currently sporting, i rarely even need to use the cap booster. of course this does not mean that you should unfit it but it is very comfortable to be able to run most missions without even watching your cap.

I should buy an Ishtar.

1) With this fit:
3x CCCs, Guns only 7m48s Cap
1x Elu, 2x CCCs, Guns only 12m12s Cap
1x Elu, 2x SMUs, Guns only 14m0s Cap <--- if you're spending 14m firing your guns without pause, look at your overview and make sure you're not accidentally a POS

So they do not make you cap stable. In fact CCCs make your cap worse.

2) Ok, let's go to 3x CCCs and a 6% Cap Implant. Heck, we'll make one of the CCCs T2. Guns Only ... drum-roll please... 12m2s cap. Whoops.

3) What kind of suicide gank of a loot pinata like a mission 'mare isn't going to be an alpha gank? Let alone one where your Cap actually matters. Or do you go around shooting your local ninjas?

4) With this fit, you rarely need to use your cap booster. With ANY Nightmare fit, you'll rarely need to use your Cap booster. That's the nature of the Gankmare. Anyway, post your fit if you think you can put out more DPS while spending less isk on a sufficient Tank, cause that's all that matters.

EDIT: Initially did the numbers with a 5% Capacitor Capacity Implant applied. New numbers are fixed with no implants (unless mentioned)

I don't fly the Nightmare, but it seems pretty obvious that it is inferior in most ways to the Machariel, and needs a rework/buff.

Looking at the tank for example, Mach just beats Mare in every possible way. No cap used for weapons meaning more for tank, ridiculous speed and agility, similar combined armour + shield HP total HP to the Nightmare. It wins hands down and is overpowered, or rather, the Nightmare needs a serious boost.

i was puzzled over why we get different results then i remembered that i use faction guns. so with T2 guns, you are actually right, elutriation rigs make way more sense than CCCs. that said, i do prefer faction tachs, as they are relatively cheap and allow me to run my 'semistable' setup. as for shooting nonstop, there is the blockade, recon 1/3, pirate invasion and some others that i don't recall right now. yes, you can blitz them but i prefer not to or else i wouldn't be flying a nightmare in the first place.

I should buy an Ishtar.

the only real drawback of the nightmare is the fixed damage type. while the mach has higher paper DPS, it cannot project them as well. iirc a standard fit nightmare will outdps a faction EMP mach at about 20-25km. you also need neither speed nor massive tank for lvl4s when you have such good dps and projection, unless you need to slowboat to a gate and there is nothing to shoot (which only happens in worlds collide).

I should buy an Ishtar.
