There IS an aggression mechanic bug/exploit with one of the new patches

It would seem that under certain circumstances (through bugged mechanics that I do not entirely understand) a neutral can neut RR a wartarget, dock up, undock and get aggression without ever being shot at.

Yes, petitions have been submitted and all that. But I get the impressiont that a certain pilot, belonging to a certain merc alliance that shall go unnamed. performed this exploit/bug with deliberate intent. I can't prove that he did of course, but it is as though he knew what he was doing, and was expecting the outcome of aggression without actually being fired upon.

So whatever it is, it may also be repeatable if one knows what one was doing (at least in theory)

So fair warning to whom it may concern, be on the lookout for this.
& a heads up to CCP... your aggression rules might be borked somehow on tranquility.

This is exactly what happened to me last night.

Currently at war, I engaged an hostile war target on Dodixie Fed Navy Station. Some neutral people RR the war target, dock, undock, and without I even lock them, they get the right to shoot me without Concord intervention.

Any explication on how is it possible ?

Any bug fixing on planification ?

Thx for help and answers.

Bump to the top, because apparently this is a real issue. Another friend of mine lost a Tengu to this not to long ago.

CCP do your logs show anything or what?

You can use RR mechanics to get aggression against yourself too :) I reported this a LONG time ago, fell on deaf ears when I opened a bug on it, they said "nah doesn't exist". FunnY I got screens to prove my own name is in my own agro list :)

But are you actually allowed to shoot yourself, or can you only be shot at by yourself?

Given this mechanic is being changed in inferno so if a neut reps a wartarget they become suspects and killable by everyone in eve does this matter?

Q: Neutral parties in a fight?

A: This is part of crime watch and not handled specifically by the war system. RRing someone in a legal war fight in hi sec adds a Suspect flag. This won't solve RRing as such, so maybe something more needs to be done, but this is what we're planning for Inferno.

The issue here is not who is able to shoot at the neutral RR, but that they can somehow shoot at their friends' enemies without being shot at first.

Thanks for posting exactly how to do it so that every jackass can do it.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

Your stupid is amazing. I posted no such instructions, nor do I know exactly how they are doing it. I don't think they are just docking, I suspect that they are doing something while docked (god knows what or how).

TBH if more people did it then CCP would fix it.
So if I figure out how, you betcha i'll be posting it because that is the only way that it will get addressed, and thus fixed.

Is the dev blog about war changes. They are LOOKING into the possibility of not allowing the player to rejoin the corp after leaving during the duration of the war. However CCP has always been very hesitant about putting restraints on the individual players when it comes to wars. So who knows, I like the idea they have but we will see if they add it in.

Likewise. CCP tends to ignore stuff like this for years unless everyone starts doing it (fixed within 2 weeks) or it gets used against goons (fixed within 2 hours).

Was victim of this bug yesterday as well. Petition and bug report with logs, screenshots etc. filed.

And of course CCP only responds quickly when the bug becomes a big problem, that is only natural. Look at it this way: EVE is a game where you can actually make a certain issue a big problem for the company, and thus have direct influence over the speed with which they fix it.
