Hi! I'm Corestwo! You might recognize me from such posts as "calling you a moron for thinking that eve being designed so that scamming and thievery are possible is a flaw".

This post was crafted by a member of the GoonSwarm Federation Economic Cabal, the foremost authority on Eve: Online economics and gameplay.

Ah, the guy who thinks ad hominems are arguments.

Well, every forum has that guy. You can stay.

Ad hominems? Oh heavens no! I'm merely summarizing - rather poorly and, looking back over it, in a fairly distorted fashion - our little back and forth in the latest "onoes I got margin trading scammed" thread. Lol

My bad - I thought you were summarising all your posting.

All my posting? I'm hurt. Cry

That only summarizes some of my posting, and then only when they're not worth arguing with. Or they deserve it. P

Contrary to the impression given by the leagues of liberal arts graduates, calling someone an idiot during the course of an exchange is not in and of itself an ad hominem fallacy.

For example:

Your argument is wrong because you are dumb. <- ad hominem

You are dumb because your argument is wrong <- not an adhominem

The second example is a fallacy, thus you are dumb, right?

The second example has insufficient evidence for strong inductive reasoning, but I don't see a specific fallacy. Which fallacy did you see?

Just because someone has a bad argument does not make them dumb. Just because something swims in water does not make it a fish.

edit - Affirming the consequent if you must have a moniker.

That's not a fallacy. It's a weak argument.

Your lack of comprehension isn't my problem.

Very rarely do I find comprehension to be an issue. Please take some of your valuable time to explain where I've gone wrong here. It would be greatly appreciated.
