Everybody seems to favor the tengu, but Ive never flown one. Was looking at a loki because i know what it can do PvP wise but havent ever tested one in a WH. Anybody know which I should go for? Need one that can rapidly switch from PvE to PvP.

Jack of all trades t3s fail at all trades and win at none. Buy one for pvp and one for pve... and leave them as such.

Also, do some google searches and you'll find your answer.

Most universal hull is tengu.

You can even use armor tanked tengus in armor pvp fleets.

I flew with someone who did that in an incursion. It actually worked, too. I was flabbergasted.

I like to lick things.

Haunting the forums since 03.

A webbing loki is kinda universal - for capital class WHs the same fit can be used for supporting dreads in PVE or PVP or just webbing in PVP tho they aren't a great backbone for the PVE fleet tho on their own. RR Tengus are pretty much the staple of a T3 that can swap between PVE and PVP at a whim and all the better if backed up by a carrier.

Loki is easily the most versatile T3 IMO.
Tengu is best for PVE by far.
Proteus is best for PVP with Loki a close second. (really comes down to personal preference.)

Actualy we have found that a well flown Proteus is just as good at running C2 sites as a Tengu or Drake. You can bring your site times down far enough to make yourself between 50-100 Million ISK an hour.

I'd love to see a fit for this!

I've always used Tengus for pve but actually the laser legion is quite nice if you are in an armor fleet. You can get a good optimal with a couple of tracking computers in the mids. Frigs + cruiser that always gets close are vaporized fast with mf.

For pvp I think I prefer the Proteus because of the OMG damage and super long points/scrams but against other ships than caps the legion probably do more damage thanks to be able to apply full damage at any distance.

As mentioned above the Proteus / Loki pair is very potent to keep every ship in place

this question is so situational its almost impossible to answer.

the proteus does the highest dps on a single target at close range, ie if you are trying to kill a ship by out dpsing the reps it can recieve the proteus is the best, especially since it does high damage on armor (which most wormhole PvP'ers use)

in fleets when it is fairly even and your dps cannot break the rep amount from logistics you need to change targets reguly then the proteus sucks since it has to be at 1k range to do any damage. the legion sines here, it does 500-600 dps upto 30k which is enough in most fleets to break a ships tank when changing primary reguly. legion also does em/thermal so works best againsts hield ships

the loki is more a a support ship in PvP with hail they can push about 600ish dps at close range (within 2500m) and with barrage they do 400ish dps upto about 16k. the loki is a force multiplyer since it uses webs to slow a target a long range and increase the overal dps of a fleet on the webbed target.

the tengu obviously works best as a shield ship, they can form RR gangs which some use in PvP although ive never seen it work sucessfully myself. armor EcmGu's are pritty good, they can tank damage put out 250ish dps from missiles aswell as carry 5 jammers. they can overheat alot so there jam strength works against guardians, T3's and single ECCM bhals.

in PvE a gang of RR tengus can run sites in a c5, not very quickly but they can do it. lokis can web for dreads in cap escalations.

my advice.... go with a loki, they also make great cloki / scanning ships and initial tacklers.

May i see the fit for this? Is it like some weird jamming setup or like a duel web tp setup?

People say ... the buffer is to low ... but with 500DPS / 590 DPS OH you can kill 2 Drakes easy and quick.
I think .. the Proteus need 1 more Med Slot for Web Sad

Best T3 for PVE ... Tengu with HAMS - 800 DPS but **** range. What?

500 dps, 2 Drakes, easy & quick doesn't sound quite right to me. Have you done this?

We have testing this Fitting on the Testserver and it works fine.
Most Drake Pilotes use Kinetic Missiles and the Proteus have 94% Resis of this Blink
I don't see any Drake Pilote using Explo. If he switch to EM you have 81% Resis. and in the
10 Sec. switchtime you hit the Drake 2x. If you use Imps, Booster and Hardwiring you can pimp your Ship more.

Yep the tank seems fine, I was more wondering about the 500 dps, Drake tank and quick -part.

Disagree completely - The Tengu with my skills does nearly 800 Dps without overload using hams (24km Range i think) and you can switch damage types.
