Why is this? Bug or some confusing way the overheat works?

Running the march 29 release.

Edit: Corpmate says he get 1:50 on both but I get the same as screenshoot on my laptop as well.

And while I'm here I'd like to throw a suggestion. I want to be able to search the abbrevations i use ingame. For example LSE to browse Large Shield Extender, BCU for Ballistic Control System (Even though this one doesn't make sense since it should be BCS but everyone use BCU short) and CCC for Capacitor Control Circuit etc.

First let me thank you for this nice tool and the effort you spent.

I have a bug to report and because of it, I can't use the EFT since the 1.6 Update. I'm using a german EVE client and with the update CCP started to use localized stings (for the japanese I guess). Unfortunately this affected my client too.

If I export a fitting from EVE the shipType value in the XML looks like this:
shipType value="<localized hint="Thorax">Thorax*</localized>"

If I try to import a fitting in EFT I get the error message:
Unknown ship type: lt;localized hint=quot;Thoraxquot;gt;Thorax*lt;/localizedgt;

If I try to import a fitting in EVE I get the error message;
Invalid file

Every item in the XML has this kind of encoded string in it. I can confirm this bug on a second german client and we tested it on an english client, where everything looks fine. I'm not sure if this is a problem which should be fixed in EVE or in EFT, but I guess CCP will keep this structure up.

Please help.

First of all, Thanks for your continued efforts on such a great tool for the game.

Id like to report a bug. The newest version is not saving my characters. I put in the API info, save it, and they are saved for the duration that i keep EFT open. But once i close it and reopen it, they are gone.

I looked through the whole thread, but couldn't find where to upload custom damage profiles? Wasn't there a list of the common profiles out there?

I remember it from previous versions, but had to get new computers since then.

I didn't see this reported anywhere... EFT is handling one of the Oneiros hull bonuses incorrectly.

To duplicate:
Use the "All Level V" character, and fit an Oneiros. Put on a large 'Solace' Remote Bulwark Reconstruction.

The module uses 150 MW. Fitted (in-game) powergrid usage is 52.5 MW. EFT PG usage is 210.0 MW.

EFT is giving the module a 40% penalty to PG usage instead of a 65% bonus.

Tested version is 2.14.8.

Thanks for EFT by the way, great tool! :)

You name the difficulties with this yourself. What abbrevations to use?

No its windows 7 with themes turned off cuz they suck resources for zero benefit.
Also problem fixed itself when I did a windows update for some optional .NET update.

Using 2.14.8, target painters are handled oddly in falloff situations. My understanding is that when outside optimal, there is a chance the paint "misses". EFT's DPS graph seems to assume the paint will *always* miss outside optimal range, even if it's only 0.1 km outside optimal and in fact would have a very very high chance to successfully paint. Perhaps dps at a specific distance should be handled by expected value of [(paint chance)*(dps with) + (1-(paint chance))*(dps without)] at a given distance? Then the graphs would not look so weird, with a discontinuity outside optimal range when painters are active vs off:

Gripen, would you consider this an issue to be fixed? The dps applied is a worst-case scenario, quite inaccurate yes? This has a big impact on EFTing fights at sniper range, say 70-100k.

Thanks for the awesome software. You have no idea how nice it is being able to fit my ships where I am not allowed to play EvE. I am a dev myself and know how a pain in the ass people can be about bugs sometimes. Its wonderful how people that never even opened a console window can be exigent about stuff. Im sincerely amazed how you handle this given how big the EvE community is. I would probably lose my temper.
Anyway, ironically, my intention when getting into the thread was to report a bug too. But with it also goes the solution.
The cap penalty reduction that both the Thorax and Deimos ship bonuses gives is actually increasing the capacitor from the ship. I did not checked it on EvE yet but it shouldnt work like this there too.
It should be doing:
shipTotalCap = shipTotalCap - (shipTotalCap * (MWDPenalty - (MWDPenalty * 0,05 * gallenteCruiserSkill)))
but I think its doing:
shipTotalCap = shipTotalCap - (shipTotalCap * (MWDPenalty - (0,05 * gallenteCruiserSkill)))
This probably passed unnoticed because those are not very popular ships.
I'm sorry about the ugly equations, Im not a very good coder. I'm more the analyst type.
Anyway, please let me know if this helps.
