Is there a way to re-fit your modules in space. As far as I understand it can't be done. Why not make a re-fit drone that would be able to do this or some kind of skill that would enable it. Would be neat if you could change from PVE fit to PVP fit right on the battle field, or if your in a T3 with the ability to change your subs out in space. I guess I'm probably missing something here but it sounds cool!

Cool? Yup. Game-breaking? Absolutely.

For modules there already is such a thing. Its called ship maintanance bay. Just fly next to your wingmans Carrier/Rorquall/Orca/supercarrier and refit.

I think the theory is that since you're not constantly flying around with a carrier and/or orca, OP wants some simpler way. You know...like with drones.

Umm...

Show me someone who can change the tire on their car, while they're driving down the highway.

Then I'll show you a ship that can refit in motion.

Until then... someone already gave the answer.

Orca and some Capitals can be used to refit. Or the Ship Maint Array POS module.

Cool idea, but it would de-emphasize the actual piloting part of combat in favor of fitting to counter what your enemy is flying, while reducing the importance of being prepared and having a plan.

They have Zealots? Everyone refit with tracking disruptors. They have ECM support? Quick, everyone fit ECCM. They're in frigates? Swap out those Hammerhead IIs for swarms of Warrior IIs. We can't take them? Slap on some WCS and inertia stabilizers and let's get out.

Never said anything about doing it on the fly. You can stop a spaceship just as you stop a car. Oh well, just thought it would be a nice feature. Wish in one hand ..........

It's a feature that is supplied by having a capital ship with a ship maintenance bay in your fleet.

You can also do it at a POS with a ship maintenance bay deployed.

It's a very powerful feature, and thus its use carries restrictions.

Well the "in-Game" reason is that you need more than just a drone to remove whole systems of you ship.

Its not like just a wheel change ... they simply see it that way that someone is actually docking at an Orca/carrier ....
turning everything off and having crews fit in the new modules.

As for the T3 Cruisers they consider a change of the Subsystems as replacing a whole section of the ship.
If you try to remove a Sub from a T3 while docked you get a message about your crew dieing with a hull breach.

The Game mechanics have been explained already :)

Really!! Now why didn't think of that in the first place!Roll

Waxfire, thanks for that response it was kinda what I thought. Although, since there is already drones that can repair your modules I thought maybe they could make one that would replace them. Guess that wouldn't be feasible though. And being the noob I am I didn't realize that capitol ship have the ability to change mods.

No drone that I know of repairs modules, only armor and shield rep drones unless they added one and didn't update the evelopedia. Also they don't fix you, they fix your buddies. Can't target yourself and give the command.

Hey! Let's refit in space while we are grinding SP by doing missions as we buy SP with RMT!

Got that wrong too! Oh well I give up. I thought you could repair armor or shield damage to your own drones also.

That you can do as you can target your drones. You just can't rep yourself with your own drones.
