Corporation, POS, And FW.

I have a two man corporation which I setup so I can run a small Caldari research POS. I was kicking around the idea of doing some Faction warfare. I was considering having the corporation join the Caldari faction which would allow me to continue POS operations and maybe do some PvP on the side.

I am assuming that if someone from the enemy faction attacks my corporate POS, the Caldari NPC Navy goes after them since I'm in a hisec .5 system. If a third party, not involved in faction warfare wardecs me, does the fact I'm in a "Caldari Faction" alliance effect anything?

Is there any advantage to joining FW as a corporation vs simply signing up with the NPC FW Militia?

Yes the Navy will assist, but they are complete **** in a .5 and can be tanked with relative ease. However in my years in FW hitting a high sec pos in enemy space is a rarity, if its even been done. To much of a hassle I would think.

Being in FW will have no affect on a third party wardec

The advantage of signing up as a corp would only be that you could possibly expedite your acceptance into private intel channels as NPC corp militia are typically ignored and left out of the "loop". If you have little to no pvp experience I would recommend joining an already established FW corp, there are several on the Caldari side that are currently recruiting.

Good Luck!

Draketrain once killed a Gal POS in Villore while tanking the navy is a "special" way. However killing a POS in low sec is a boring *****, nevermind high sec where you can't drop 40 dreads on the mother.

You'll likely be save joining, just you know keep BPOs at a station not the pos and all that.

Don't ask about Italics, just tilt your head.

Put your POS in a .7 system if you can find one near by as then the faction navy will also neut the war targets. TBH it's unlikely anyone would from FW would bother to kill a high sec POS unless you do something like tell them you are joining FW & have it in a .5 system..

Big smile

Na really you would likely have more risk from high sec war dec corps TBH unless it's a easy target like a small or med POS.. The other thing you can do is if attacked by a FW corp, you just drop FW for 24hrs, or do what all the cool kids do in low sec and use a alt corp and when the enemy Militia attacks you just join that corp to the enemy Militia causing anyone whom doesn't have a war dec on you to commit faction standing suicide.

Highsec POS's are reasonably safe for FW corps.

Nex and Chatgris used to warp through my old POS system many times without even blinking an eye or looking for me.
