I feel silly asking this question but it has me totally baffled. While using my ingame global map (F10). it has changed view to show solar system only and no matter how many keys I press it will not go back to global view so I can set my autopilot. The only work around I have found it to reset all my settings in eve which is a pain, After a few uses of the map it goes back. Please advise what am I missing.

If you open the map you get a map control window, it has a big button on top called either "Star map" or "solar system map" depending on which map you're looking at right now. Click it.

Got another thing you should take a look at:

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/

If your headed to a location in space you have never heard of or cant be linked or right clicked to this resource is a god send. As it will give you maps of all the systems as well as the ability to search for them by name.

You can look up a system name or location on dotlan, open up people and places search by solar system copy past the location search right click set destination.

Also having a out of game map you can quick glance at that takes fewer game resources then the in game map can be a huge help.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.

Hmz, totally true

Long time ago since I opened the weird ingame map. Dotlan is clearer and more usefull in finding what is happening in the system (NPC kills, jumps, player kills last hour etc).

Another common one that may come up later in your career (you have to be in a ship with a jumpdrive to see it): the star map sphere for jumpdrive range doesn't show when the star map is flattened.

Of course if a veteran has trouble with this, you will look positively brilliant by already knowing the answer Big smile

I use dotlan's jump planner as it can also calculate total fuel consumption by skills for different ships and arrange shortest way points to destination.
