Mining - why is the red headed stepchild of EVE and why does CCP continue to neglec it?

probably because the change to make it interesting would be just a complete 180 from what it is now. That's huge. You risk alienating a fair amount of the population, if you make it less afkable, but possibly "OP"/easy money if you make it like PI.

I think it's like a lot of political issues that people know need to be addressed, but suicide to do so. The only option is to ignore it and change the subject.

Liquor and nudity is about the only thing that would help. OR some explosions.

Hmmm sounds vaguely familiar, you might want to talk to Wildy Inappropriate and ask Snowman to dance for you.

Or better yet, you can target a POS and turn on your Large Pulse Laser.

If it weren't for players willing to sit and perform what many consider the most boring aspect ever conceived in a game - this game wouldn't exist. Ore is everything in this game. It is used to make all the ships that people just feel the need to constantly destroy.

Greetings capsuleer,

You and those that think like you are welcome to stop mining. This will allow those that mine in groups, fit properly and can properly defend their operations the opportunity to make more profit and they will readily step up to fill the void you left.

You can also think of it this way. The attempts on a miners' ship gives them an interactive, engaging activity in New Eden. There is no need for CCP to step in as other players are already providing that opportunity for them. They simply need to get away from the mindset of being solo and should do so in packs with security and so forth.

Engage with New Eden, don't look the other way and hope it won't notice you.

CCP could change the mining mechanics to be as entertaining as a well oiled hooker and half the EVE population would still have a melt down over it.

Just because you sit behind an alt doesn't mean I have to Roll

Except there is a difference between actually breaking a game in the direction they were going compared to a minority crying on the forums (like there always is) Lol

No one hates miners. With the drone regions being nerfed we all love miners that play the game. The problem is that the vast majority of miners don't play the game. Miners almost overwhelmingly devote considerable efforts to finding ways to spend as little time playing Eve-Online as possible while their mining lasers cycle. The only reason miners are being ganked is because they are not at their keyboards, its entire their own fault.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

Hmmm speaking of Snowman, have him let me know when CCP is ready to release those bombers with mining lasers on them.
Want to get going on the next build project, Hulks are too slow.
I know I know you first have to purge the markets of Hulks and minerals but still..

The OP is kinda right, mining should just be removed from the game.

It is such a soul crushing mind numbing activity that anybody doing it should have their heads looked at.

Remove it so the whining stops.

I find it too boring for words, so you miners should stop doing it. Period.

What would the risk-averse wealth-obsessed do then?

You might as well take the bacon right out of CCP's moufsesses.

CCP is shutting down the server. Empire miners won, 3 to 2 in overtime.

Nevertheless I feel I owe it to the EVE community to volunteer for player-testing this new well-oiled hooker mechanic you speak of.
