The Mittens is a smart guy. He wouldn't be where he is if he was stupid. So he must know that you can't possibly create a monopoly out of something as accessible as ice. Sure, losing a brutix to kill a Mack can look all profitable and dettering on paper, but when miners will get their insured, tanked covetors instead, it will suddenly be a lot less profitable. Let them suicide their dominixes on those, it will cost them more to replace. And you won't need a huge increase of Oxytope prices to make covetor ice mining more profitable than last week's mackinaw mining.

No, Mittens must know he can't "break the market" and that it will result only in maybe a 3-5% increase in T2 ship prod cost. What he probably has done must be invest a ton of money last week to buy huge stocks of Oxytopes, and resell them now, making profits in the dozen of billions. And trolling the rest of Eve, which must flatter his ego.

Well played, Mittens, well played.

well thanks and all, but i think all of you are underestimating the simple raw sadism of your average goon

this has been tremendously fun; trying to destroy the galactic economy and get rich while doing it is a nice perk, but mostly it's about inflicting suffering en masse on people we dislike

Which is basically all of New Eden? Not a good way to guarantee long-term survival.

~realpost~

I've blown up almost sixty exhumers since tuesday. 90% of them are bots. They sit there and try to mine in pods. Ice mining is probably the single most corrupt profession in EVE. Not like I care, we're not doing this for justice and truth, but to wreak havoc, inflict suffering and get money.

What's funny is when the other CSM's post my bullshit-o-meter goes off the scale, am I however detecting a noble effort hidden discreetly beneath this CSM's sarcasm? Shocked

i assure you it's not noble, when i said during the campaign that i'm a manipulative bastard and a sadist i wasn't kidding

people don't really seem to understand the whole sadist thing though, they blow it off as a joke or something, idk

If you want an inkling of nobility to be attached to your name as a CSM, maybe dipping into your ******* coffers to reimburse the REAL miners for their ship losses (not the mining resource losses) would be a nice move.

what are the possitive things that higher t2 items and higher cost travel would lead too?

That's a good question.

Higher priced T2:
This leads to several positive effects.

(1) T2 is skill-intensive compared to meta 1-4. Cheap T2 means that T2 is the standard fitting, which means that players who have not yet accumulated the skills required find it relatively harder to compete. In a scenario where T2 is expensive and is therefore less commonly used, lower skilled players are comparitively advantaged.*

(2) More diversity in fittings. I'm just going to assert that this is ipso facto a good thing because diversity encourages creativity and novelty, both of which EVE needs like a hungry fat chick needs cake.

(3) Expensive T2 pulls up the value of meta items, which makes ratting more profitable, and which means that looting has a comparative advantage over (inflationary) blitzing.

Higher travel costs:
This leads to several positive effects.

(1) It encourages alliances to seek conflict closer to home, and penalises that "Nothing but blues for 40 jumps" factor.

(2) It adds a little more expense to the inevitable hotdrops.

(3) It encourages people to use supcaps rather than capitals.

*I am aware that this conflicts with my Law. Feel free to discuss the applicability in this situation.

Wrong, most research tower is Caldari which consumes nitrogen isotopes. So if Goonswarm's intention is to hurt most research tower owners in highsec, then they're doing it wrong.

actually it hurts REACTION towers not research towers.

Gallente Large Towers are the best for running reactions in because

1. they have the best cpu/pg ratio for setting up reaction towers

2. they get a silo bonus

This has all the makings of a halarious fail, time to farm Goonies before it's too late.

Careful now, once you start trying to insinuate that players should do things for themselves instead of slinging random insults at the CSM or crying to CCP, then EP will know that you're a goon alt for sure.

lol, now there is no reason to be insulting, I'm just out watching the fun, and getting the occasional free Goon kill...it's all good.

My own dear alliance has set virtually everyone else in EVE as "KOS". Is this a good way to "guarantee long-term survival"?

Is long term survival the final metric of a good playstyle?

History would prove you wrong, since the goons have waged war against most of New Eden for the better part of the last six (seven?) years and only ever risen higher and higher.

As if shield bots and ecm drones will stop a brutix which can alpha a mack. Also, please learn to spell.

There's four hulks sitting right next to each other in Jaschercis. They're using ECM, rep drones and an oneiros to be ~safe~.

Please fix this ^_^

OMW, Oneiros are ****.

Yes, a Jr Goon discussing spelling, thread is now complete.... \0/

And so far, the Goonie Brutix's seem to be lacking something, because they aren't getting alphas, and seem to be having trouble killing un-defended Macs/Hulks.....Shocked

Higher priced T2:

1,its not eve 2004, without learning skills training times are way less than before. its not hard to get t2 tanking skills its like 1 month for both shield and armour. less than it used to be training learning skills
2, new fittings are coming out all teh time, in the past year hell cats, thundercats, welp canes to name just a few have all shown up, these at the time were out the box thinking, the next new standard will also be out side the box.
3. in most cases currently meta 4 is more expensive than t2, you want meta 4's to cost more than it already does, dosnt that just hurt the nub?

Higher travel costs:
1, alliances dont care what it costs to move capitals about. its a everyday living expense. only small times grunts do, they are teh only ones directly effected
2. a little extra cost that dosnt matter for any alliance, see 1
3, higher costs dont make people use scaps more, the scap iwin button does.

higher costs for t2 and fuel only effect grunts, alliances will just suck it up as a living expense, same as most 'older richer' players

OMG when can i get a pic here

You dont HATE them, you're just trying to play your game the way you find it entertaining.

Just make sure that when you wear that "other hat" you're doing your best to make sure this game continues in a proper manner and facillittes aspects not quite supporting your own needs and wants.

You can continue harvesting those precious tears from there.

You go your corridor but.
