Is it worth the time and effort to plug a set of Virtues in? Anyone tested with/without back to back?

short answer: yes
long answer: yes if you have 2.5bil to spend on your probing alt and arent a moron who cant avoid getting podded.

If you have a dedicated probing alt and probe a lot, I'd say it's worth it depending on what you're probing for.

Personally, I don't have a dedicated prober so I don't have any on TQ. However on Sisi, I tried probing down my alt after the changes to improbable ships were made and I couldn't get a warpable result on my alt until I plugged virtues in.

Thanks! I will be using a dedicated probing alt to hunt/kill mission runners. The jury is still out on how successful I can be given that pirates have been so severely nerfed by all the changes (lol probes showing up on overview now).

You dont NEED it for hunting mission runners but it obviously makes the process faster. It's already an easy process. The key thing Virtues allow is the scanning of certain T3 setups and a few others that you have zero chance of finding otherwise, although most mission or DED plexing setups should not require you to fit virtues to find (I'm pretty sure but someone might be able to chip in and prove me wrong here).

Overall if you can afford them for your dedicated prober then go for it, but generally they are only REQUIRED for finding certain hard to scan tech III ganglink setups.

for probing missioners it's a waste of isk...
there are far better uses for a probing alt.
