Carebears, do this. You may think I'm trolling you, considering I'm ostensibly one of the bad guys, but I'd really rather see anti-griefer techniques become commonplace than see CCP nerf us more because the carebears are too lazy to protect their ****.

Pyschotic Monk is correct, using an alt or a corp mate to summon Concord to your belt to "protect" you is not an exploit.

What is considered an exploit is summoning concord with your alt and then erasing your alt once your security status drops below -2. Here you are avoiding the consequences of your actions (low sec status).

A somewhat dated discussion on this topic was shown (I have not been able to find a more current post):

http://community.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=818978&page=2#42

CCP responds several times in this post, but I think the two most important responses by CCP are post numbers 42 & 43, halfway through the second page.

Bleh, I was just going to post the exact same thing.

Basically, as long as you don't delete the alt you can spawn Concord in your belt.

To do this you will need:

Your mining vessel at least lightly tanked.
An alt in a noob ship.
If you cannot field two characters at once ask a corp mate to do this part.

Pick a fairly fresh belt you want to mine in.
Set up your mining vessel in this belt.
Bring in the alt and with a token attempt have him attack your mining vessel.
Concord responds and blows up the alt.
Concord sits in your belt as a body guard for a few hours after that while you mine away to your hearts content.
Your whole corp can mine in there for that matter.
Concord leaves?
Have the alt attack again.

If everyone would do this it would basically shut down Schoolyardbullyageddon.

We have a job. It's called ganking T2 mining ships and salvaging/looting them for profit. It's completely legit.

Concord being on grid will not save you.

To my knowledge, the only exploitive aspect to this is if the alt-in-noobship character gets Biomassed to shed them of negative security status.

It's an exploit. Kind of like how gankers can't summon concord elsewhere to gain extra time, Miners can't summon concord to live.

Clueless? It's well documented that pulling Concord is within the bounds of proper gameplay.....Go read up...

I don't know if there has been a change I am not aware of but CCP has said in the past that concord spawns entirely new police ships for any infraction. Don't be surprised if the ships your sent so much time calling to your belt do nothing if you get ganked.

Pretty sure you don't need to learn Yoga to lick a dogs balls, you just need to get yourself a dog. I've not tried and I'm not going to though so I could be wrong.

Show me where CCP has stated its an exploit.

I would if I could be bothered.

Find it yourself.

baiting Concord is not an exploit, gankers have been doing it since theres concord. now, how much of an effect does it have on response time? i dont think theres anything definite really.

on ice belts for example, if theres concord on belt and you hit a barge more concord spawns, the concord ship on belt WILL lock you and jam (if they are close), but its unclear if they are the ones blowig you up or the new arrivals.

anyone whos been hit by concord know theres small dps on you at first then its a one shot, considering that the actual concord response is the JAMMING and not the uberlazor they fire at you, then id say theres a small 4 - 5 seconds increase in response time if concord is on grid and close to you.

disco ganks dont care for this, BUT if you disco the concord ships you spawn a damn armada on your head. :D

Yes, this will definitely help you when my Tornado(s) blow you up in one shot.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

That's not a "technique". It's unintended, borderline exploit use of game mechanics. I view it no differently then wardec shedding and neutral RR. People, including myself, have told them over and over how they can legitimately avoid being ganked.

Your view doesn't matter. Its amazing I know, but you are not a GM and those guys seem to have more power then a developer. Like internet space game lawyers. Pulling CONCORD into or out of an area is not an exploit, this became more widely known like 2 Wankageddon's ago and nothing has been done since....only Boomerange was fixed because you are not supposed to avoid the risk of losing your ship to CONCORD after attacking...nothing says you can lose it after 10 minutes for example and because when you warp off not only does CONCORD have response time but during warp they can't target you and then have to respond at the next attack (which is why its exploitable...you are avoiding EVERY attempt at CONCORD to get you).

I do get annoyed by the arguments....from both sides to be honest. I can understand 'carebears' getting peeved by losing hulks when just minding their own business....as I have in the past.

I also get annoyed at the attitude of others who seem to think that the game is solely PvP and they have the right to do what they want. But more so the palygroung bully approach of some on the forums. I also have respect for others who put forward intelligent and thoughtful posts. I have to say that I agree with something Floppy said (apologise for paraphrasing but cba to scroll Lol ) The rules are the rules some are rubbish (yeah neutrall RR is a pain for one) and both 'sides' live with it, gankers do get hacked off with changes (orca, boomerang et al) but then say fook it.....what else can we do...they innovate. What do miners do....they whine Sad. I would not welcome high sec becoming completely safe. It would kill a lot of the aspects of the game and high sec war decs, ganking and generally arseyness are part of what makes Eve the sandbox it is, most of those things can be annoying but if you look at what you can get out of it you can have a laugh. I hate to say it but if you want completely safe gameplay there are lots of choices out there.

Saying that, in my current corp we have a guy who actually looks forward to hulkageddon and dusts of his Hulk.....not sure of his kill tally but he got a Talos the other day - oh and it was fitted with 4 T2 mag stabs....so decent DPS. His KB stats get hilarious during this event and why? Because he fits a decent tank, fits the ship to survive multiple ganks at once and then sets his drones on the ganker, getting the KM. You know, if all miners could even be bothered to try half of what he does the event would fail.....whining on here and then mining fit for maximum yield.....well I have no sympathy Ugh

And I am a 'carebear' , I mine , mission invent and build....I also go on roams occasionally with the corp into low sec for the laughs - well they laugh at how crap I am.....so FFS stop whining and do something positive, or stay docked, mine in 1.0 or change trade!

if you actually want to mine safely albeit slight less efficient, you need to take fast ship and make several bookmarks offgrid of the belt in a big arc similar to the belt, make a BM of the corner roid, then warp to that, align to 1st offgrid bm you made, and mine in motion @75% speed, with d-scan click every 5-10 seconds with 150,000,000km setting, if you see anyting other than youself, warp out of the current belt and set yourself up in another or have a few systems you bm'd

honestly tho mining is crap in eve, you would be better off tradind/doing PI/or just bout anything other than mining.

We are our own worst enemy.

Stuff like this happens in any game that has law, as well as in real life (they work differently, but meh). Why shouldn't it happen in EVE?

Example:
Serial killer, well, serial kills in a particular neighborhood, police focus on that, some otherwise quite obvious crimes in other neighborhoods might get neglected. A step further would be a police shoot out against a gang, allowing other gang members to do crimes that would otherwise required to be stealthy and at night and very cautiously, without being noticed.

The Caldari put business before pleasure. The Gallente put business in pleasure.

I'd like to know how many other games you know of where this is possible. I certantly don't know any. Yes, rules are meant to be broken... so really, **** it.

This could be fun.
