Looks like it uses same engine as SWTOR and a new development team (not the one that makes single player TES games)... so yeah, there's probably some epic bugs coming too.. Big smile

To be fair TES series has so much of a in depth and detailed lore/backstory that it would make it easy to base a MMO off of. Plus with how much of a following they have it would be a smart choice. Now how they do the actual game play will be the interesting part, though I expect it to be similar to WoW.

New article.

It really sounds they they're WoWing it up, much to my dismay.

Depends on what they do... and how they handle pvp.

Too me ES is about the single player experience and running off to do whatever the hell you like... Not grinding to level, rather leveling comes by just exploring or getting through the story.

It's a fantasy game and a good one as single player... but what makes it stand out on its own in an mmo capacity? Really what's it bringing to the table? In many ways MMO's were made to articulate ES in a multiple player fashion/bring that experience online with others.

On a side note Company of heros 2 has been announced... So hooray for actual strategy and tactics once again!!

Edit.. read the link... So nothing sets it apart they did away with the real time combat system, and have standard cookie cutter layout. So essentially the same old song and dance.

Well pretty much not interested now.

True, but take the core gameplay add on to it (weather impacts tactics/units now) cover system changes. Add new gameplay Russian campaign. And further enhanced technical aspects (graphics, engine) and honestly if they **** it up..i'd give them an award.

I just hope for the love of god they take out the German advancement system... ******* pay to upgrade...! Damned panthers rolling off the line fully dec'd out!

Let's be honest the screenshot released in Game Informer looks exactly like every other fantasy MMO out there. Yea it may still be in its infancy, but whatever hopes I did have for this game have vanished now. I mean lets be real here...they should have at least kept it first person, but suppose that would be too much to ask. Sad day for gamers everywhere.

It's going to have a skill system supposedly similar to GW2 - which is mostly good.

It's going to be based on the Hero Engine, the same thing SWTOR was - so that's pretty ******* terrible.

Also, The Elder Scrolls games are usually sandboxy. This will be nothing even remotely close to sandboxy. Exploration will be rewarded in the same fashion it is in GW2 (Events, clearing a dungeon is the quest even though no one really told you about it, etc), buuuuuuuuut...I can't see it being better designed than GW2 and definitely don't see it as a worthy entry into the Elder Scrolls name. No housing, doesn't appear to have any kind of werewolf/vampire thing, Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild will be present, but won't really have the questlines they do in the TES series.., etc etc.

It also has more grindy elements than GW2 does and...after the terribleness that was Tera and SWTOR, Ima need expansive hands-on time before I pick up a game, and they like to test their stuff in-house.

So...most likely, pass.
