Effects of proposed war mechanics

The proposed war mechanics would vary the weekly cost depending how many members in the target corp. If I have this straight the effects should be something like:

1) Reduce the number of small corps

If it costs 60 mill to dec a small corp but 500+ mill to dec a large alliance, it makes more financial sense to dec the small corps. Small corps struggle with war anyway in this game but the proposed new mechanic should wipe quite a lot of them out.

2) CEOs each make 300 trial accounts

The new war-dec avoidance strategy will be for each CEO to make 300 trial accounts each with 3 characters and put them into your corp (then allow them to go inactive) thus pushing up the price of war-dec until it becomes economically unviable to target your corp given the number of members it has.

3) Goonswarm becomes immune to war (in high-sec)

If CCP hadn't banned The Mittani I would have suspected the new rules were written in collaboration with him. I know you can fight in 0.0 without war, but in high-sec Goons will be war-less unless someone can fork out the 4.5 billion isk weekly pocket change to keep a dec against them going.

Finally this isn't a moan about the proposed war mechanics, I'm quite happy to make 300 more trial accounts for (relative) immunity from war, just an observation of what I think is likely to happen with the new mechanics.

It would be better, how bigger te corp how cheaper to declare war. And small corps more expensive. That way the small corps also get a change to grow untill they are capable to properly deffend thierselves. This is just idiotic.

Or, you can look at it this way. Why should you have to pay the same amount to shoot half a dozen people in a little corp, when you can shoot several hundred in a big one? And goonswarm doesn't become immune to war in highsec - it just means that if you want to dec goonswarm you are going to have to have an actual goal of deccing goonswarm instead of randomly deccing them so you can pwn the random idiot on their way to jita without using an out of corp alt...

imo wardecs should also scale with the attacking corp's size plus all non-corp pilots who join fleet with the attacker.

I agree with the OP... this means that the small group of friend won't be able to do there own thing... remeber ppl pay for this game..

On an additional note, I think the whole war dec mechanism should be a complete "open the kimono" thing: no corp hopping, and no JOINING a corp once the dec is declared. (You know who you are, failsauce)

There is, in my opinion nothing wrong with joining a corp while it's at war because you want to help folks kill dudes.

The issue is with using the ability to instantly join and leave a corporation either attack or temporarily evade unexpecting war targets.

think I will start a new alliance
Invite all high sec corps to join before they get war decced
please bring as many of your expired/trial accounts as possible
might even go round spamming local
once we get to a couple thousand members
it will be pretty much immune from wars due to cost
think I will call my new alliance "dec shield"

This is going to wreck small pvp corps. It will protect carebears by eliminating the feasability of high sec pvp corps.
1) pvp makes little isk anyways, and if the biggest Corp I can dec with my wallet is 10 people, why bother? Seriously, I'll never see them.
2) I won't be able to drop war decs anymore, so even if I do get the isk together to start a war I won't be able to drop the dec if they turtle up in stations. Since pick up games are already dead,what will we do for fun?

I think the piracy and griefing were always what made eve interesting. We're killing that.
