New Rigs

Hi,

I for one would love to see Rigs introduced that give you extra fitting slots, adding a greater level of flexibility in ship fittings.

Example 1:

Additional Missile Hardpoint
Gives +1 additional Missile slot in high slots
Only works if your ship has available potential slots i.e. less than 8 currently
Does not give any additional Powergrid/CPU bonus.
Rig Drawback is increased fitting requirements for Missile Launchers (as is currently the case for Missile Rigging).
Has a high calibration cost.
Requires Launcher Rigging skill at Level 5.

Example 2:

Additional Low Slot
Gives +1 additional low slot
Only works if your ship has available potential slots i.e. less than 8 currently
Does not give any additional Powergrid/CPU bonus.
Rig drawback is decreased Capacitor/Powergrid/CPU
Has a high calibration cost.
Requires Energy Grid Rigging or something similar at Level 5.

Thoughts anyone?

I for one think this would be pretty cool thing to do, and I have tried to outline enough drawbacks and costs to guard against it being overpowered. We could even call it Tech 3 Rigging and give it higher skill prerequisites, like Advanced Weapon Upgrades 5 etc.

Something like that, but you would have fitting issues so we would have to gimp tank and/or DPS, plus you would lose your Torpedo range from using Rig slots for something else. So its all balanced IMO :)

There already are "rigs" that do this. Look under Ship Modifications->Subsystems.

You know, since that's the entire premise behind T3 ships.
