Heya Market Discussions
edited title for more precision. last one was vague

The tl;dr:
I'm looking for a bond of 5 bil, to be repaid in 2 months with two interest payments of 12%.

Why 12%:
Because everyone else does 10 and 15, 5's not worth most people's time and I like to keep it interesting (as well as just saving me money).

The rundown on me:
I started Eve a long, long time ago in pursuits of epic battles and PVP. This was all fine, fun and dandy, but as most pvp'ers wind up
spending a lot on ships and modules in the long run, and long story short I found my true calling in Eve: market trading.

Unfortunately, college then set in, and I took a long leave of absence with the intent in quitting, thus leaving my estate pretty barren. Prior to my absence, I was able to pull 200-400m a day, and quite honestly, it'd be nice to achieve that level of momentum again.

The plan:
I'm fairly used to hauling crap around and setting up market orders, and in my trial run over the course of yesterday alone I was able to bring in ~100m (can use API to verify this). I bought a 60 day GTC in order to fund this endeavor, leaving me with about a current 1 bil in isk.

Why do I need a 5 billion loan then (******* already has 1b...):
Well, I would like to channel the current 1 billion I have into a freighter for myself to pilot (a Fenrir), and use the loaned isk to essentially build myself from the ground up. Watch the markets, buy low, sell high. 1 month to get big, 1 month to clean up and get everyones investments back.

The backup plan:
Recoup with GTCs and look like an *******.

The returns:
12% invested one calendar month from when all money is gathered, for two months. Investors can ask to pull out at any time and recieve their isk within the week (essentially as quick as I can liquidate whatever I'm trading). If I can't get it that quick (catastrophic event), I'm prepared to GTC it up.

The risks:
All of the usual. Honest disclaimer, this will be my first bond (and only Eve debt). Like I said above, what I can tell you is I'm an old player who knows what he is doing. If my friends were still around I'd ask them (I don't suppose anyone knows Angelonico?), but they're not so I get to ask you, Market Discussions.

What about collateral.

I understand you have limited ISK, but it might be worth your time to invest in some way of getting the capital to collateralize the loan. 5b is a lot.

If you did collateralize it, I would be willing to invest.

I don't exactly have a ton to collateralize with, but I do have a (small) hangar of t2 ships worth in the neighborhood of bil, it's all I really have other than a Maelstrom I use for missions. Is this sort of thing enough?

edit: I'm also available in game for awhile if you'd like to chat there.

So I'm sure saying something like I'm a legitimate trader is something that is said repeatedly without fail, but I was really hoping to make this bond work. Like I said before, I am willing to at least try to provide some collateral (eve assets what i have all together at somewhere at 2 bil; I figure a conservative figure for what I can put up to be 1-1.5 bil), as well as any API access requested to show that I'm honestly not just screwing around.

I realize that asking to borrow 5 for 1-1.5 kind of steep, but I guess I could try and work with a smaller loan amount if that's all anyone felt comfortable loaning given my situation. The obvious problem being here, is too small and it's pointless and too big looks like a cash grab. In all honesty I'd also be willing to ask an outside traders perspective on this. I guess basically, in short what I'm asking is how can I make this work?

Making it look like you're happy to give collateral knowing full well it's worth nowhere near the bond value is a tactic used by many to make them seem more genuine. Giving collateral worth 2bil for a 5bil bond still nets you 3b. I'm not saying this is what you are doing, but ideally the collateral should be slightly above the bond value - not less.

My only suggestion is to ask for a smaller amount using the collateral you suggested and work your way up the ladder.

I seem to smell the stench of appeasement in the air.

I'm fine worth the former half of your suggestion, but I'd rather not work my way any ladder. I'm here to do business and get my feet planted, not string myself along in debt working towards "the ultimate loan".

I would invest 1billion at this point, I would take more if the bond was even partially collateralized.

Send me a message in game when you can and I can talk to you about collateral.

I've just been flown down to sunny Plymouth with work. So I will get hold of you in a couple of days (Thurs) if you are still looking for investment.

You should invest some money in a hauling alt..buy it with another character you make.. dont let people know its your alt. You're making yourself a big target by telling people youre investing money and such on things in here. They will scan you down.

Posting killmails with your cargo will give people an idea of how you plan to invest their money.

I agree with others. Start small with 1b.. take their challenge to prove to them what you can do.

I hope it works out for you!
