Everytime I make an API key to use on evemon it is expired. I create a key, enter it into evemon within seconds and its expired, I wait a few minutes and still expired. I wait the 10mins it says, still expired, I wait a whold 8 freekin hours, STILL expired. It worked ONCE, a few days ago for Eve Universe for my iPhone, but then there was an update for the app and it never worked again. I thought it was the app but when I tried to run evemon for PC it still happens.

Any idea whats wrong?

Huh? What?

Most likely the expiry date for the according key has simply passed. You should be able to fix that by going to the API Key Management, update the key in question and set a new expiry date (or check the checkbox for "No Expiry").

By default, the Expiry date will be set to the actual day, and as such the key will cease to work the next day, with that very error message.

Actually the API key expires the SECOND I generate it. I generate a key, copy/paste to evemon and expired WITHIN SECONDS.

I do not see anywhere to change the expiry time frame.

Huh? What?

Not quite sure how you could miss this...

Admittedly EVEMon doesn't support the new APIs yet so I'm guessing CCP has already turn off generating any new API of the old system and is waiting only as bit longer before denying old program access to them altogether...

Or at least the "official" EVEMon doesn't...

There's a 1.5.0 RC2 out as well as nightly builds - all supporting the new keys. As long as you're using one of these the new keys should be working fine. Not sure right now, but I don't think the old EVEMon will report new keys as "expired". Think it's "invalid key" instead.

Actually I was using the old keys, no idea there were new keys. I did finally find them but other then the link in this thread I had no idea there were even new keys or where to look. I got evemon and eve universe to work with the new keys and the ultimate question is: why are there "old" keys when they dont even work?

Huh? What?

I'm still using old keys in EVEMon and they do work for me, except for a lot of fake "market order expired" messages in EVEMon, but that just might be bug in EVEMon.

The old keys should continue to work for at least some time. That's the reason for them still being there (and also to grant third party developers some time to adapt to this change).

I was suffering from the same problem, till I realised the ID field in Evemom refers to the api key ID and not the account ID like it used to, damn I felt stupidOops

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
