9 Years, grats. It's been a bumpy ride for sure, some of the things you've done were so great it's hard to see that they haven't been embraced by the rest of the world, some so bad that they still bite you. Been here for most of those years and I too have hated and loved the game over the years. Here's to hoping you will stop making me hate your decisions at least once every single year and to hoping you keep making the game interesting for casual players too.


As for the gifts: wow, swing and a miss.

I certainly appreciate gifts -- by definition, a gift is something extra that no one had to give you.

But.

The only gift I've gotten that was of ANY use to me was the REMAP. There is nothing on the gift list this time that is any more interesting than a cheap tie that doesn't match any of my shirts, and oh by the way I don't wear ties anyway. Gee, thanks.

If you want to see a sincere smile on my face when I open my gift, BRING BACK THE REMAP OPTION!!!

Also, congrats on the 9th anniversary, and I hope you have many more!

Would have been more than happy with nothing.

Read blog; got excited.

Looked at gift list and wondered what cretin came up with those ideas and which further cretin approved them.

I mean really? You make a song and dance about it being the epic 9th anniversary and how you've got awesome commemorative gifts for us then offer us this crap?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting expensive stuff or even necessarily anything useful....but come on. (for example I still use and love the apotheosis as a quick shiny looking shuttle)

Oh well.

Guess I'll just look forward to some nice frigate skills for the 10th anniversary.

Just read through the chronicle text referring to the Pax Ammaria, you got to be kidding me? all it is a mis print of the dime a dozen book we already have in the game...

Thank you CCP! I don't think I've ever played a game where the developers listen and take care of the player base as well as you guys do! The gifts may not be what some people were expecting but they're free and it's the thought that counts! Thank you again and congrats on 9 years!

CCP will reveal what it is after selections have been made.

CCP rewards loyal customers.

CCP likes to test the loyalty of customers... look at incarna. :-D

It will be epic, or it will be a trinket. Either way it is pretty cool to get something to mark the passage of time. Favorite so far has been the apotheosis.

CCP doesn't even get invincible ships... they just remove the Polaris killmails.

Handing out remaps like candy wouldn't be very good. Removes the point of having limited remaps at all. I mean if a remap was given away every birthday and Christmas players'd have 3 remaps a year, which is ridiculous. Why not just give everyone 30 in every stat all the time? Yeah.

Took the book, anyway :D

Thanks for the gifts and happy anniversary. Great the gifts are suited for newer players. Veterans already have the skills trained and there's nothing special about the ships. Indeed nothing special about the gifts which is surprising as anniversaries are special. If Fanfest 2013 is anything like the 2012 one or the gifts it too will suck. I hope the anniversary fanfest is better, if it sucks again I'll still go to Iceland while friends attend fanfest I'll enjoy the beautiful country. It is the thought that counts though, and I appreciate that CCP has us players in mind. After all we pay their salary Big smile
