LMAO!

I started in phase 3 of closed beta. You're the wet behind the ears "n00b".

See my above post. Hulkageddon amuses me, but I dislike full time suicide gankers as much if not more than you do. You're both carebears to me.

So an exploit that minimises the risk of being ganked = perfectly fine, but an exploit that makes it easier to gank = cheating? I love miner logic.

It's not an exploit.

And if it was, you'll get warned first. It takes a pretty long history of abuse before any particular exploit gets a ban first with no warning.

Carebears, do this. You may think I'm trolling you, considering I'm ostensibly one of the bad guys, but I'd really rather see anti-griefer techniques become commonplace than see CCP nerf us more because the carebears are too lazy to protect their ****.

That's not a "technique". It's unintended, borderline exploit use of game mechanics. I view it no differently then wardec shedding and neutral RR. People, including myself, have told them over and over how they can legitimately avoid being ganked.

its hilarious when people try to do this, it's like a giant neon sign that says "gank me and you will get amazing rage"

and then we do

1)tornado
2)while in warp to target, pull concord: by the time the miner realizes what is happening he's already being shot

i prefer #1 just because of how glorious it is that one second the miner is smug about his invincibility and the next he is wondering where his ship went

#2 though has the advantage you can probably pod the miner too, and is cheaper for our less rich bretheren

its incredibly easy any ganking squad will have a concord-puller

some people thought they were clever during the ice interdiction, i violently disabused them of that notion (though at the time i used an apoc instead)

and my bretheren would routinely pull concord, and if someone was quick on the draw respawning it, setting up the timing is still incredibly easy

Pyschotic Monk is correct, using an alt or a corp mate to summon Concord to your belt to "protect" you is not an exploit.

What is considered an exploit is summoning concord with your alt and then erasing your alt once your security status drops below -2. Here you are avoiding the consequences of your actions (low sec status).

A somewhat dated discussion on this topic was shown (I have not been able to find a more current post):

CCP responds several times in this post, but I think the two most important responses by CCP are post numbers 42 & 43, halfway through the second page.

Dude, we do it all the time. Youre yammering on like Hulkageddon is the first time we have done this. Some of us have been killing miners for years. We know all the tricks and all the ways the carebears try to thwart gods work. You cant win, the only reason your Hulk continues to live is 1) you dont undock it or, 2) were too lazy to go after it.

And yet dec scraping and neut RR still see use every day. Do they suck? Yes. Are they ****** gameplay design? Absolutely! Despite that, they're a factor of gameplay. I'd love to see them both dead, but I'm not going to accuse anyone who uses them of lack of some kind of... e-honour? I mean, really? At nearly a decade in, there are still people who are trying to bring Bushido into my game of space-cutthroats?

Whether it's intended or not, you're a dumbass if you're trying to pound nails into wood with your bare hands when there's a hammer on your tool belt.

If you want to compete, you have to be competitive.

Edit: Other dudes in this thread are talking about how your security measures won't save you. There are techniques for everything. They have techniques to counter your ****, just as you should have techniques to counter theirs. If their techniques beat yours, then all that means is that they've won and you need to think harder.

On the other hand, if you have no kung-fu at all, then you're a simpleton **** and blowing you up is not just a victory, but a service they've rendered to the playerbase as a whole.

3) He's a tool or an idiot.

And Pschyotic Monk has a point....people have been doing this for a long time now...and the concord trick your bringing up is a waste of time.

Bottom line is this...if someone wants you dead....your gonna get podded...regardless of what you do or how you do it.
Get over yourself and take a hike nooblet....welcome to EVE Online.Cool

Let's make it clear here: this won't make you 100% safe. You still won't survive if they bring enough alpha. A well-coordinated group will pull Concord seconds before a ganker lands, giving you little time to react. You still need to properly tank your exhumer. ECM drones wouldn't hurt either.

When I proposed this same idea on TS a while back, it was a response to the now-dead boomerang. It has the added benefit of deterring any solo gankers who can't alpha your ship. It's not perfect, but it's another tool available to miners who are keen on security.

Don't worry, gankers. Most miners aren't bright enough (or human enough) to use this sort of thing. Consider it a form of Darwinism.

I ganked miners right in front of concord. Just need couple extra arty thrashers to alpha a hulk, it works in 0.9 and 1.0 systems very reliably.
