Could u add support for other price fetch api's, like marketeer, eve.addicts.nl and preferable settable as option?
I would like to have this 5% buy/sell options from marketeer, since avg., median is not very correct on various products.

Thx Andy

Only thing I can think of is having a firewall program like Zone Alarm not allowing internet access. However ,this shouldn't be an issue until you enter the API data.

Another idea would be to check your version of .Net that you have installed. It might not recognize your version but did not error either. I'm using .Net 4.0. Might want to try to uninstall and reinstall it.

This worked! Thank you! :)

I can only say to try again later. Sourceforge can be a bit flakey at times.

Hi, been using your progrm for a while now. Great tool.

But since some time it cant not fetch SVR data anymore. it's quite cruicial for me when searching for something new to manufacture. Been looking at the market myself the last days hoping it would fix itself, but it has not.

I get the error:

"Unable to update all Price volume data at this time."
can press OK and then I get a list but without SVR ratio.

Best regards,
Suni

Thats because Eve-Marketeer is down, where IPH gets those SVR data from. So nothing we can do atm until its back up.

How long do you reckon it will be down for? I had this error for a week now. maybe longer but thats when I used it again after a few weeks.

Hard to say since the Eve-Marketeer guy had some RL stuff going on and don't seem to have this site at a very high priority. So we cant really say, but usually think in terms of weekends. My guess is end of this weekend or next.

Said he's looking at it but I'm not sure when. It's really useful data so hope it's up soon.

Edit: error message says this weekend.

It's since past week that I try to download it with no success, as far as I can see it seems to be a problem only on ISH Project , I tried other sourceforge project and was able to download them, very strange.

Ok, I'll try uploading the file again to see if it improves. What files are you looking at?

OK, I replaced the file last night with a new copy. (Same file). I just tried the download with no issues.

If you can't get that to work, try the binaries and just unzip the folder where you want it and create a short cut. Baring that, I'm not sure. Maybe something with firewall or something? Can you try a different browser?

Hi,

i already asked this once, but how are the RE cost calculated in IPH? It seems a bit off from my calculations, since it only includes the fail % chance shown, but not the general 25% chance to get a specific subsystem?

So as a example, it shows a total cost for a 10 BPC of "Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay", using a malfunctioning relic as 86Mill for the whole copy, but this only takes into account that the RE job has a 55% fail chance. However actually getting this specific BPC only has a 25% base chance at all, so its more like 55% * 25% = 13,75% chance to get a specific one. This ofc increases the RE cost and should be factored in. This means instead of the shown 86Mill, it actually would take around 8 tries to produce one BPC of the wanted type, which in comparison increase the RE cost from 86M to around 400M.

I would like a option that simply adds this extra base probability % and factors it into the costs and resulting profit, IPH.
I'm also not 100% sure we can even multiply the chances, since the 2 events are not fully independent?

bye Andy

PS: As "valid" alternative, multiply the result with the listed "Subsystem group profitability", so at least we factor in that even if u don't get the wanted subsystem u at least get something "profitable" that can set-off your RE cost. We still would want to set some minimum "profitability" value, since 1mill profit might be "profitable", but not in comparison to the time/RE cost's. So i would suggest some sort of settable "minimum profitability" field, that will alter the profitability % value.

Oki i just checked the code on sourceforge and indeed only the fail chance is factored into the RE costs.
Quote:
AvgRunsforSuccess = 1 / BPREChance

So we somehow need to add the base probability and maybe factor in some values for "profitable" results on high profitable groups. The idea would be that its very costly to try to get a specific subsystem in a 25% "profitable" group, while it is way cheaper to try get one in a 75% group, since even "wrong" successfully RE results can be produced with profit.

Maybe some others have inputs for this math problem, since currently for all tengu subs the IPH/profit shown is way off and does not represent real ingame costs, especially for the expansive offensive systems.

Thx Andy

Yikes, you didn't have to do all that work! I'll see if I can get that fixed but I'm going on travel tomorrow so might not get to it until next week.

Andy, see my reply below. Think it's a pretty simple fix.

First off, thanks for the program, I find it extremely useful and much less bloated then some of the other tools out there.

I thought I would throw in my 2 cents on RE. While I haven't actually done RE and manufacture I did crunch the numbers a bit and I think the best way to look at the numbers is profit per group. Even if you don't get the high profit bpc you want to mitigate possible losses with a bad bpc, so you want to average the outcomes.

I also have a feature request for gas harvesting. It is not very hard to work out isk per hour on gas sites, but it is a pain to constantly look up gas mass and price to work this out. What I would like is to have isk per hour per gas type or site and a quick breakdown of what gas is in what sites for quick reference of what is worth the time. Only other number I can think of that might be nice is total value of a particular gas in a site or the entire site.

Thanks!

On the RE part I think it's just simply multiplying the RE cost (which is now for 1 success) by 4. This would take into account the fact that on average, if you run a large number of REs you will get an 25% of each resulting BPC. So basically, assume you need to run the RE 4 times before you get a success.

Using the average profitability isn't really going to show you what you would get for that specific subsystem, but is good to compare for the line as a whole. For example, if you want to make a profit doing RE, you might choose the subsystems that have 100% profitability over ones that do not. That's the reason I added it actually. I jumped on the tengu craze (stupidly) and ended up with 6 offensive subsystems that no one used. When I compared all of them, I found out only one was profitable and realized that. Assuming you won't build for a loss, then the total RE cost can be captured for a profitable item by multiplying it by 4.

On gas mining, yes I agree. I originally started the mining tab and included gas mining but it's so different I left it out for now (plus the tab itself became more complex than I anticipated). So I have it on the list. I think with the setup I have it shouldn't be hard to do. Just gotta find the time!
