Wich is the correct behavior an IMac should have during a long session of eve?
I mean, mine gets so hot that I cant touch it.
My doubt is that the fans dont increase their speed.
GPU temp sensor says 85 °C

Machine is:

IMac 21.5 2011
CPU I7
GPU 6770M
12 GB RAM

If you have a similar machine, can you tell me if your fans starts or wich is your temp?

I just retired it from assistence, the logic board was completely changed, it was "fused". I dont want this to happen again..

Most all Macs and many PCs get very hot. Get a better fan.

Actually it's not a useless answer, the iMac is in an aluminum case. Point a fan at it and it will cool better.

My recommendation is to install smcFanControl and increase your fan speeds while playing Eve.

Are your fans spinning up audibly when playing EVE? Unless you are in a *really* dusty place you should not have furred up a 2011 iMac yet so it shouldn't need cleaning. If the fans are not ramping up, you should get it checked while it is still under warranty or AppleCare.

smcFanControl is a great app for raising the minimum fan speeds on demand.

My Macbook gets pretty hot when running Eve - don't have a GPU temperature reading but the CPU temperature is up at 75 celsius most of the time I am playing. The case around the power connector gets too hot to touch.

Modern processors are designed to run pretty hot. It's a trade-off between speed (which generates more heat), cooling and space (with more cooling taking up more space). The advantage of the aluminium bodied machines is that the case itself acts as a heat sink. This means that if you direct cooler airflow over the case (using an external fan) then you are going to be assisting with processor and GPU cooling.

I don't ever hear the fans running on my machine, irrespective of their speed, so can't really comment on whether they change or not. However, the temperatures you are reporting don't sound unusual.

The iMac have 13 temp sensors and 3 fans as well as copper piping. I assure you the cooling system is perfectly competent. The fan controller stubbornly wait until it HAVE to spin the fans up. That is why it gets so hot to the touch.

Tools such as smc fan control and iStats Menu (my favorite) can be used to raise the minimum RPM (idling) of the fans.

Setting the fans between 25% to 33% will be very sufficient for anything.
