Ave,

Thats actually my first topic on this/EVE forum. I read plenty of "feed-back" posts from players toward Devs, so i am just curious what devs actually think about the players. We are all human-being and if i were on the Dev spot i would probably go to sensory overload state and just post horrible things about forum posters till i would be permanently banned from forums.

So thats about covers it.

PS. I dont think someone will actually reply to it

They hate us all. Though I bet the Incarna Team is the most annoyed.

Haha, I hope the community Dev's have kept the Incarna boys away from the forums for the last couple months saying something along the lines of:

CCP Fallout: "No no no, they LOVE Incarna! just... uh... keep working on those other CQ's... NO! Don't log into the forums, here, I'll just unplug you from the network so you can... focus... yea...."

Can't wait to dual box my Dust toon and EVE toon on the same machine!

Forums are a loud, aggressive, vocal minority. I've never seen a game forum that isn't, and all devs realize this.

No - not really.

I read the forums very regularly and sometimes even post. Overall it's really good feedback, you learn a lot about overall sentiment and over time you can even glean sentiment trending from it. But you also have to be able to mentally filter out some posts and threads. It's tough, but highly valuable.

Plus, I love the EVE community. It's the most inventive, direct and intelligent online community I've seen. ♥

True, however sometimes the crowd could be quite inventive and write well thought posts/threads.
The most funny part i find is that someone actually genuinely believe that their idea is unique and nobody from devs haven't thought about it that way.

Like the "requests" to change this and that here and there and everything gonna be fine.. All of those are just small changes with marginal impact on game itself right ?

It is likely a mix of feeling that a vast swath of us are completely off our rockers and make the most ridiculously absurd demands they've ever seen, to a mix of healthy respect for the fact that we ARE the subscribers, so keeping as many of as possible happy and content (read: subscribed) is always the core goal.

From posters who demand that all PvE players are removed from the game, to posters who make logical well-thought out and sensible posts on game mechanics, we are a lively bunch of customers.

There are probably a lot they have no idea what it is really like or how complex and time consuming a lot of this stuff is sentiments I bet.

Or, if you believe in the notion that CCP is on a downward and irreversible spiral like some insist on believing no matter what, there are probably also a lot of they have no idea what we're going through and how bad things have gotten and how we want to help but can't sentiments going around.

...clearly the Ishukone Watch Scorpion is the fifth horseman of the Apocalypse, i.e. the Brown Rider, otherwise known as Poopie.

Look at this guy. He thinks devs don't have forum alts.

The main problem with forums is the anonymity. If we had to use our real identity for posting I'm sure that we might say the same stuff, but with much more respect and leaving aside the obsessive need to harass the game/company/employees as often as possible that some individuals have.

PD: I'm not saying that I'd like to use my real identity on forums, just pointing out at the nature of the anonymity.

As little as I have said - I would be happy to push it to any employee of CCP.

Anon is ok to hide behind as a general commenter - no problems with that. Those that verge on the personal need their heads testing.

What saddens me is that so many people care about the game, yet they get marginalised as a "vocal minority"

They are the people that care by definition.

I love the EVE community - it's why I am here. If it truly changes then I will be off.

That would be a sad day for me. Cry

Yeah, without anonymity we all would be much more deceitful and dishonest.

Dishonest politeness is a greater insult than impolite honesty.

Besides, I dislike being forced to expose myself to the whole world.
