when I started eve I decided there was no way to train everything with one character so as to do "it all". so I specialized and created multipile accounts. Some are combat some are industry.. some are Amarr only .. some are Minmatar or Galentte only. The longer I play however the more these lines blur.. I have started cross training a lot of things.

in face of good FC'ing and good player skills, SP amount isn't nothing

think if it like this: player skills and FC's are the tactical resources provided by the gang. SP is a strategical resource that only gives you more options.

I'm pretty damn sure that a lower SP guy can best me if he is smart about his flying and tactics.

and I have over 120mil SP.

I'm training all frigates, all weapon systems and support skills to a medium-level (standard certificate-like), then will branch out into Battlecruisers and Battleships one ship at a time. I'm skipping any skills that would take several days at the moment.

I like the flexibility to mix and match ships and weapon systems so it doesn't get boring. Once I can reasonably fly the ships/ship types/roles (somewhere akin to level 3 missioning) I plan to max out a selection of skills to 5.

Hmm tought question specialist or generalist...

I'm a generalist in the idea i can practically jump in any ship with any fitting inmediately or in a couple of days top.

But in the heart i'm a strong Specialist.
in the short way generalising it's more useful and efficient for the everyday but in the long way specialist turn into a massive advantage.

I can't remember how many times the simply act of train skill XX has led me to notice it just not open 1 or 2 new ships but a docen sinec you get acces to tech2 due the already advanced backup skills.


My lattest Antic, notice i had 2x Remap available and used it to focus train all leaderships skills to 5, then remap back to end maxing out all latest gunnery/missile and race ship up to BS lvl 5.

P.S: NO I DID NOT TRAIN THE MINNING LEADERSHIP SKILLS SCREW THEM!!!

I would be a General Specialist.

I'm a generalist, I can fly any t1 subcap and most any faction ship, I can do it well and I can t2 fit most any ship I can fly. I have excellent industrial and combat skills and I'm working on refining many of them in the next year or two. I can also fly any exhumer, and a specific set of t2 ships that I specifically trained for instead of others, those are the ones I'm real good with. I'm hoping to expand that set to be a bit more broad as well.

I specilize in Winmatar ships at the moment, but pretty much fly only the Vargur for mission running. Shield and armor are maxed (everything to 5 but comp resist skills to 4 and Tac shield 4), navigation will be finished in less then a month, gunnery support maxed out but speced up to large projectiles, all drone skills to 5 (even repair and mining drones for kicks) but the racial spec to 4 excluding the 3 cap drone skills, all engineering and electronics for fiting purposes maxed out (less the rig skills to 4)....pretty much I can go in any direction. Till the end of the year I am pretty much trying to finish out more of the intel/mem skills I ignored at first, then going to focus on either an ishtar, Tengu (which requires working on missile skills where as any hybrid or laser T2 are just weeks away), or maybe another marauder such as the kronos (friend flies one and he says its not bad) which will also affect the Mach though I prefer to skill down into cruisers. Can fly nearly any T1 hull (except industrials, only needed gallente) at level 4 skills at least, just don't know where to go from there

At the moment I'm a generalist, started Gallente with max drones, now doing the Gal/Minnie cross-train for all the lovely faction ships I can get from that to do PvE (Vindi, Mach, etc.) as well as Gal/Caldari to fly the faction ships I can get from that (Gila, Rattler).

I recently experienced a renewal of interest in EVE as I got over the hump of just sitting in a Domi doing L4s with good fitting skills, uber drone skills and nothing else. Getting into T2 guns (both hybrids and autocannons, now getting into arty and missiles) has been a shot in the arm for me.

As I've ticked off several mid-term aims I had (e.g. exploration, more recently Ishtar, so HACs) I'm getting a better idea of what I want to specialize in, and will certainly push something to the max, but I'm not yet sure what.

I'm hugely enjoying my Ishtar, so maybe getting all the HACs (which would necessitate all Cruiser Vs and of course HAC V, as well as maxing out all the relevant fitting, rig and weapons skills), but that might change.

I've been primarily a PvE-er, but over time I've gotten more and more used to PvP, and dying less, and am developing an interest in it, so I might push BCs as well, dunno.
