So I've taken the advice of many and started blitzing missions for LP rather than doing the whole kill all/loot/salvage thing.

I've tried to do a bit of research into ideal items to sell, and have been making up a spreadsheet as I go as well.

However, the main thing I'm noticing is that the LP > isk ratio is retardedly low compared to the quotes I've seen from previous forum posts, etc. I found people from months ago claiming 2.5k to 3k rates, yet 90% of the store I see rates of less than 1k (yes I checked popular ammo too). I thought that inflation would be driving the ratio up, not down...


I'm going to assume that Caldari Navy is one of the worst corps to run missions for, due to them being set up in Jita - so is the problem with

a) My maths? (Doubtful, i'm a fecking mathemagician)
b) Wrong items (Am I missing something obvious in the store?)
c) Caldari Navy?
d) Caldari corps in general?
e) Too many Hi-sec mission runners in general?

Wrong items, store kinda sucks. All the navy stores are a bit sub-par and the ridiculous number of people running for Caldari Navy doesn't help matters.

5-run BPCs that you get from industrial corps tend to do much, much better. It's really the only reasonable way to get CN BCUs (for example).

Tag costs are also a major factor. It looks like you're accounting for them, but it's possible you're not playing the market for them very well. Buy orders are your friends here. All the tags I've watched are cyclical and if you're buying enough while they're on the down side, you can both cash out LP and have enough left over to sell when they swing back up at a very tidy profit.

Thanks heaps Big smile I did account for tags, but as you say, I wasn't counting on setting up buy orders, just minimum Jita sell price at the time.

Wouldn't ever have guessed that Industrial corps were an alternative - I assumed that the smaller LP shop meant less valuable items to sell.

Setting up buy orders is an activity by itself...it's called trade. Afterall, why stop at just tags??? There's alot of money to be made in trade , it's timing is just a bit ifferent.

If you are getting into trade you may aswell quit running missions. It seems you are getting the hang of it already by making spread sheets.

Look at other stuff and keep in mind that people are lazy and that you need tt be a bit more patient.

You'd be amazed what ppl would pay for example for a T1 hauler cause they just can't be arsed flying 5 jumps to buy one 1m cheaper. Coz after all, 1m is just a couple of mission BS's.....and ohwait, they sell ammo an dcap boosters here aswell. Hmm now I need cargo extenders...Whaddayaknow, same station!!!.

Amyways, you get my drift.

@Shaen Thanks for the advice, I've always wanted to get into trading but I always get distracted with shiny ships. Mayhaps I'll give it another shot.
