The simple fact remains, and your strawmen cannot change this fact: the 70% highsec character population means that fewer than 70% of the players are highsec players, to the point where they might not even be the majority (silent or otherwise) that they so often claim to be.

That's most certainly not a fact, it is your interpretation based on your definition which you have created to support your point.

There's a not so subtle difference.

So, if you're demanding apologies for lying... eh. Roll

This goes both ways, dude.

Just because this character lives in high-sec doesn't mean I'm a highsec player.

Greetings capsuleer Inkunen,

I am not sure. Your post is a bit brief and you make no reference to yours being bigger. Are you sure you said what you intended to say?

What numbers are you talking about? I don't care if it shows a million paid accounts, the subscription numbers you keep referring to are meaningless, especially if most of them are throwaways.
…except that they are the numbers that denote business and population, which is what was in question. So they are highly relevant, unlike, say, average online players during the day.

If the amount of paid active accounts has been steadily growing year after year, then there was no reason to downsize and restructure the company.
Of course there was: they were trying to grow the company and the product catalogue faster than the growth in income would allow. Just because the number of active accounts was growing doesn't mean they couldn't outgrow that number and be required to downsize to get back in synch with the income growth.

Sure they will. CCP did, for one…

Frankly, the concept of financially crushing high sec is a hugely daunting task, and I would impressed at the logistics of making it happen. What I cannot stand is the maliciousness and reason for doing it: to drive players out of high sec or out of the game.

I thought we were ~having no effect~. Fail cascading? Being beaten up and chased off by the Jita scammers.

Incidentally, I'd like to give Tippia a special shoutout for so bravely and doggedly defending a tangential point I made about 5 pages back, the logic of which I thought was obvious to anyone with a secondary school maths qualification, against the massed and relentless forces of those who's worldview depends so very strongly on not understanding that logic.

Tippia, your persistence and patience is an inspriation to us all. The raw effort you have put in combating people who are simply unwilling or unable to understand the obvious implications of the previously uncontroversial fact that virtually all non-hisec players have at least one hisec alt, whilst virtually no hisec players have a non-hi-sec alt leaves me humbled.

Dear forums poster,

It must be the thing of which the measurements are being compared.

Huge, they are.

Yes, the reverse of your claim in equally valid (That being that anyone who does anything in high sec can be called a high sec player)
Nope. Again, the whole argument is we have this category of players — supposedly a majority — that will quit the game if highsec changes in any significant way. The problem with the reversal of my claim is that it would include people who do not fall into that category because they can already survive just fine outside of highsec.

There's a difference between players who enjoy dipping out of highsec on occasion, to enjoy what few bits of viable content exist there for the solo player, and being forced to exist there fulltime due to a fundamental nerf to highsec security.
If the game was just lowsec and null, it wouldn't generate enough hours of enjoyment to be worth the sub fee.

Likewise I'm sure there's some primarily low/null/Wormhole players who enjoy the ability to chill or rebuild their funds in highsec if the corp they were in previously implodes.

And I'm not too worried about the direction Eve is going in. Incarna has shown that if they go too far off course, players will desert them en masse and the next expansion(s) will correct the issues. So far there's been nothing that raised a red flag for me personally.

Wut? Lowsec has endless hours of enjoyment. In a sandbox, content is created by players.

No, we come to hisec to spend the funds we make outside.
