Skill training and expired accounts.

I am planning to let my account subscription expire for a few months probably, to take a forced break.

My question is, if I put BC L5 in my skill queue the day before my account expires, will training stop once my account is no longer active, or will it train the queue until it is empty of skills.

Thanks in advance.

It was not advance anymore. There used to be big exploits where people put huge skills in their queues and logged off and it still trained, but that has been fixed. Skill training now halts when your subscription halts.

When did this happen?
When I re-activated my account in mars (I think), I got a message that said that both electronics upgrades V and minmatar frigates V had finished.

The skill will stop training when your account expires.

At one point in time - you could close your account and the skill would keep training but to many people were taking advantage of that, putting on long skills to train and then closing their accounts so that they weren't paying CCP anything for a few months, then re-opening their accounts to find the skill completed. Not wanting large numbers of people to get away with advancing their characters if they weren't paying for it - CCP put an end to that.

My understanding - is that the skill wasn't sitting there incrementing all that time - what I believe happened was that when you re-opened your account - the game looked at when the skill had started - looked at when it was then - and advanced the amount the skill had trained accordingly. This - to my understanding - is how it works every day. You log in - and the training time for your skills is calculated since your last log in. Now, though, the point at which the account was closed is taken into consideration.

Neither of those skills takes that long. There were probably extra days left on your account.

That is to say - if you still have 10 days left on an account - and you close it - your account doesn't actually expire until the 10 days are up. During this time - the skill would still train.

I believe skill training continues 72 hours after account expires and then stops.

It indeed keeps training till 72 hours after your account went inactive. I just did exactly that, let my account lapse for 3 days as I'm not really playing actively atm anyway and take the free 3 days of training.

^^ THIS.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
