Locator Agent invulnerability ideea

How about the ability to bribe locator ( either not spelling correctly or not an actual word ) agents / CONCORD for whatever amount of ISK one wishes to, let's say for the sake of argument 1b, making him ''invisible'' for the duration of the invulnerability ( 1 month / 1 week ).

To get around this, anyone wishing to locate the pilot must top that amount of ISK paying it to CONCORD thus removing the players invulnerability in this area and making him locatable once again via agents. This has many variations possible, as in making it available for everyone or only within certain limits of standings and or security status. Once the 'buff' is removed the player loosing the ''invisible'' status should be made aware of this fact via mail.

I don't see any harm in doing this and there are plenty of benefits both for players and EVE as a game, creating a nice sink while providing a service that I'm certain many will use and benefit from.

More tweaking and constructive discussions on this matter are welcome.

or was it

Hmm, can't remember Straight

Also, locator agents are damn slow....to offset the fact that you can get away from that system. Not only do they have a reuse timer, there is a delay before you get the message...so guy needs to visit multiple agents to keep tabs on you further slowing him down unless he has cohorts helping him. Then you will probably see the guy in local thats been hunting you, so you can avoid him as well.

And the system is broken because of these limiting factors and you want to run under the radar?

The agent is slower to respond and costs more the further the pilot is away IIRC . Also denying someone access to a locator would just make him pull his alt's locator from the bench.

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.

Go to wormhole, locators can not find you from there.

Lets make killing highsec mission runners more difficult. That will make the game better.

Or call in his FW buddy who has access to a million locator agents because of infinite standings. Feels good, man. Cool

Goes more like this : Just because you're paranoid it doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

Another idea would be to restrict the agents, for a fee or by default, to only reveal the region of the player searched for.

No spilled tears from my part that lead me to the posting of this, it's just something that I feel would add immersion and would maybe force people to work together more. Either top the fee the ninja wannabe wishes to insure his privacy or go around that and use your well spread many friends - if you got them- to locate him. This could work also as initial price would be a decent amount to which the pilot would have to add the isk to be matched in order to make him findable once more. Maybe add a CD to when the invisible status can be granted once more after the insurance has beet matched.

Maybe if the toon you wish to look for is at war with the toon you are using to locate then the mechanics could differ somehow.

In a game without or very little privacy in this particular area a feature like this would be welcomed by those wishing to stay in the shadows. Let's add to that an option to to grant selective access in order to be spotted coming online - I speak for everyone in eve for this last one i bet.

Got this idea after reading about the goons death squads and how they would use agents to find their victims. Not that goons guys care much about whatever isk amount they'd have to top anyways, nothing personal tbh - I, for the most part, secretly admire goons and have so since my early eve days when I first heard of their evil deeds, organized and unorthodox way of eve'ing.

That's all for now, maybe I'll post this in the right forums to give it a real shot.

Cheers

Fix the system in this case. Give the agents the ability - most likely for a hefty fee -to keep you updated for the next x xx xxx minutes each time your target changes session.

Locator agents are fine. People just assume that the higher level agents are the most useful and that is not always the case.

The low level agents have a small range and are fast enough that if your target is within their range you should have no problem crossing their path.

The higher level agents do take a long time to respond if the target is a long way away - but that doesn't matter because you still might have 20-30 jumps to get there and the target will have moved by then anyway.
So using high level locator agents means you lose some time waiting for the location of someone you had no chance of getting to in time anyway.

Just put the useless extra characters from an account into your corp and use them for the lev1 locator searches - leaving your main for the high level searches if needed.

False. Don't feel bad. You're not the first nullsec player to be bad at highsec game mechanics.

Level 4s can pinpoint that you ARE in a WH... but only because they say "dude, idk. its like he left known space or something."
