The changes to the Amarr T2 ship colours makes me sick to my stomach.

Paladin They just swapped the secondary and primary. I think the red should have stayed secondary.

would be curious if the material swap is intended or just a shader config bug.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Does someone have a screenshot in Space or somewhere else (Hangar)? The light in the shipviewer is greenish, so the colors do get altered quite a bit.

My toon does not have the ability to get into one (yet) so I cannot take one myself.

Thanks

here you go, these were taken in a gal system w/ minimal nebula lighting, so pretty much reflection color neutral

Checked the Crusader and the Paladin in favorable light (Domain region)...that color still looks brown on both my monitors. If it's supposed to be red without my having to change the color balance on both my monitors (factory default LCDs from two different manufacturers and with two different panel technologies), please put MORE RED.

The front of the guardian is just plain wrong. Why on earth is it black, the correct colour of such ships is Gold and red. And that's Gold, not yellow or beige or outright grey, or poor-empire's copper. Polished Gold. You are doing it very wrong if it is otherwise. Please try again/add the final coat and not just the primer.

I flew to Domain when these hit the test server, and put some pics on FHC. Even under that most white & bright of lighting, by a sun, these hulls are too dark and dull. In most other space they plain look bad.

This isn't Dust, we don't need latest FPS console gritty grey, this is EVE and spaceships that have been loved for being bold colours for almost a decade. And distinctive aesthetic styles - I'm looking at you, whoever's butchering the Gallente organic lines.

I like them, overall. A lot of it's just people crying about change. REALLY like the new Khanid stuff, now it all matches the SuperMaller.

I AM a bit concerned about the darkness of it all, though. Hard to make out the new details because you simply can't see ****. Hilariously, the dark black Khanid ships are now more easy to see than the other ships.

also, what's up with the tan Imperial Navy logos on the navy ships? Looks really out of place. (Yes I know that's the color the logo is traditionally; doesn't mean it should always be that color.)

The Guardian does indeed look bad. As much as I hate gold IRL, I hope they don't get rid of it in this game or muddy it up.

The Golden Fleet is now just lame-ass bronze. Keep tech 1 Amarr ships bright.

i think they look extremely sexy. i also like how OP admitted that they needed to "train up" to even fly an amarrian T2 ships, which i find funny that they are bitching and moaning about ships they don't/can't fly.

also, about the logos: I am happy they did what they did. i think they did it for fluff reasons, but iirc the ship design firms have always been chartered by royal houses. i like that the caldari print their megacorporation logos like nation emblems, the gallente are tacky and nascar-like and the amarr show the royal house that chartered the ship. also, the royal house logos look ~way~ cooler than actual corp logos for those companies but yknow, whatevs.

i dislike alot of the **** ccp does/is doing, but i gotta hand it to them on the V3 amarr... they are everything that i had hoped for and more.

I really don't like the current Amarr textures on TQ right now, has always reminded me of those cheap oily golden plastic toys. Really liking the V3'd Amarr though, they actually look like metallic spacecraft and the gold highlights have a pretty realistic look to them with how they reflect the nebulae and their colour in general. Well at least on my computer anyway.

So much for the Amarrian Ships-.-

it might be just me, but i started as Amarr because they had something on them. They where shiney and bright and looked like they where send from heaven once.

The Navy Apocalypse used to be realy a golden vessel once. Now it's just a ship.

The (current) Paladin looks like i imagine a Amarrian Ship. Shiney and bright and proudly calling out: We are the choosen once to bring our faith to the stars.

The ships on TQ actually look like they want to hide themselfs in the shadows and the mudd. Doesnt fit with the background of the *Golden Fleet*, nor does it look any good.

Actually, they look how i would have expected the Minmatar to look like without all the rust on their vessels. So, another failure from ccp.

Not to mention that the inventory system is a slap in the face and a catastrophy to use it.

But thats typically CCP. We dont fix broken stuff, we fix stuff that doesnt need fixing and break it in the process. Good Job Sad

I think we have two things working against this

1. we have now this space that affects colors, that was prob not a good idea until the models where done and then well, they may have to go back to a neutral like source to make this work... point in case, my Rifter is "Pink" in Molden Heath - this is not a good look, as are the cane and all the minmatar ships.

2. We have new models coming in, they do look nice with the new color schemes, but they stand out as different more than complimentary to the existing hulls and colors, which are rather iconic with EVE ships.

Gold for Amarr
Red for Minmatar
Green for Gallente
Blue for Caldari
*sub factional obviously have their own schemes

This seemed to be the general rule, and while I would like to see more details, better colored skins and real gold on the Amarr, I don't particularly like the "brown-ness" we are starting to see, or the "funky" colors from the light boxes.

Will see how it goes, CCP can always tweek things here and there to get it right, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now on this as they are truly doing alot this patch, so will see... ultimately I spend so much time zoomed out in game after the undocking, I don't often see my ship... in any detail.

Is it just me or does that new Paladin look like it's a Minmatar ship?

It's covered in rust-proofing paint like all the other Carthum ships.

Hi all, I just wanted to chime in and explain that the Shader that’s used will modulate the look of the red on the Sarum ships. That is why it is too dark for some and nice for others, that being said... we are aware and have been that the ships are slightly on the darker side.

This is something we've been looking into but can’t make any changes until ALL ships are V4'd as it would be a global change to all ships. I do not have any details on this other than we are looking into it.

I will however point one of the senior artists to this thread to look at the screenshots you have created for the Paladin.

So, what we see on Sisi now is what we will be stuck with until V4? ShockedShocked This is very disappointing as some ships now look totally different. Look at the Guardian. The Amarr Gold has been replaced by brown SadSad Totally ruined. Unless the screen shots are off
