Freighters can assemble ships at POS

Hi everybody,

I just anchored and onlined a Ship Maintenance Array at a POS, and tried to put a repackaged frigate there... but couldn't do it as it only accepts assembled ships.

Then I decided to assemble the frigate on the cargo of my Obelisk... and it assembled, so I had an assembled ship inside my freighter.

After I put the frigate on the SMA, couldn't get back to the Obelisk.

Bug?

I can't see why its a bug.

Plenty of space in a freighter for assembling ships. Last I tried they also assemble if you jettison them from an indy - they don't actually come out inside a jetcan.

If a Freighter could repackage items then I'd build one, even in a Class 1. :D

nope, working as intended. Assembled ships can only be carried in Ship Maintenance bays (Orca, Rorqual, Carrier, Supercarrier).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

I think the only bug is that you could assemble the ship in a freighter at all.

IIRC, this is allowed in freighters (or any ships "big enough") for the same reason that it's allowed in the assembly arrays. I.e. the SMA ONLY allows assembled ships to be placed within it.
