Ihub Entrapment Arrays -- What Do They Actually Do?

The infrastructure upgrade "Entrapment Array" has the description "This upgrade increases the chance of finding a complex in the system." What is the mechanic behind this increase of chance? Based on anecdotal evidence, it does not simply increase the number of complexes in the system. Does it, as we have surmised, simply cause the complexes that naturally occur to be more likely to occur in the upgraded system instead of neighboring ones (aka: a "plex vacuum")? If so, if one were to place multiple Entrapment Arrays in neighboring systems, would the effect be largely wasted?

It is my impression (anecdotal evidence only) that this is exactly how it works. The entrapment array does not guarantee plexes the way the detection array guarantees anomalies. It apparently increases the chance that a plex will spawn in the system where it is installed. However, if multiple systems in the "region" where the plexes spawn are also upgraded then the probability will likely be equalized again ... though there is no hard evidence to prove this other than the fact that the entrapment arrays don't seem to do very much.

Please don't answer questions like this when you have no idea what you're talking about, it's not helpful. We own space, we have plenty of anecdotal evidence and don't need secondhand anecdotal evidence.

The only answer: **** all.

You will not find anywhere on the internet an hint that they work.

My guess is they simply raise your chance to have a ded complex: from 2% to 5-8%.

I don't recall seeing any confirmation that the Entrapment Array actually works. I know that it was broken when first released, but that was almost two years ago.

My understanding is that if the Entrapment Array does work, it increases the chance of a DED Complex spawning in the constellation as a whole, rather than in a particular system. Although it might just bump the odds of a complex spawning for the system by a few percentage points.

Either way, Entrapment Arrays are fairly cheap, so there's no reason not to have one installed.

Well now that your post has been referred to twice and you've now come back with a suitably stupid response I can now, officially, recognise you as a fully-fledged troll. Congratulations.
