Farewell, mighty Drake. You served the Caldari Empire well for 9 long years. You were a valued asset and a sturdy steed to many hundreds of thousands of Capsuleers. Soon I fear you will become the official property of a select group of null sec neckbeards. A fate you didn't earn but the mighty nerf bat is hungry and your number came up.

I will keep the copies I have in memory of the once great Drake. You will be missed.

Somewhat less than 9 years. Tier 2 BC's got introduced in 2006.
But in any case; about freaking time the Drake gets a tweak.

Let's say the tweak is something unimaginative like 5% resistances -> 7,5% damage,
with kinetic damage bonus removed. A t2 HAM drake with rage and 4 bcu's would be pushing 670dps. 10% damage bonus would result in 750dps.

That being at 17km the second alternative doesn't look too bad, although the first seems more likely, hopefully with a missile speed bonus. PVE wise we'd have a decent belt ratter in either case, PVP wise a higher DPS nanodrake sounds interesting especially in a frigate ganking setup.

The Drake's change only actually makes me more likely to fly it, TBH. This is coming from someone who has hated Drakes from day one.

I did not say the Drake hasn't got tweaked before. I'm just saying it needs a(nother) tweak at this point of time.

Seriously, there are so many things that need fixing, and instead they choose to focus on the poor man's BC....

By the time they get around to doing something about moon-goo, it won't matter. 10 trillion isk can keep you in operation for a long time....

In before the "u mad". No I don't fly drakes, could really care less.

But CCP once again seems to have lost focus on what's important in the game....

I agree with that but I expect Damnation to be on the chopping block soon enough. Yet another glass canon in EVE because we all know EVE needs more glass canons.
