New dev blog: Alliance Tournament X Rules

The Alliance Tournament is so close that I can aaalmost hear the explosions. Ok not quite that close but pretty close all the same!

CCP Loxy is here to tell us all about the rules for this year's biggest event in violent destruction!

We will be actively removing those alliances that try and add a ‘B’ or ‘C’ team. We want everyone to have a fair chance but stacking the deck in this manner will not be permitted. This removal will also include the main alliance if we detect anyone trying to field more than one team.

How will this affect RvB?

As both sides of our little community plan on entering a team this year.

Any ship rebalancing before the AT... please? How do you estimate chance of appearance on TQ of following things before AT starts:

1) Global ship rebalancing (like you already plan on frigates)
2) New modules (adaptive armor hardeners, fueled SBs, micro jump drive and so on)
3) Tracking disruptors disrupting missile damage

Also, will top 4 teams from previous AT skip pre-qualifiers (like on AT IX)?

This was needed.

I get the feeling, that if you read all the rule changes CCP has made over the years, you could take a pretty accurate guess at what happened in each previous tournament.

Thank you for this. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just something so we as a community can "be there" with the competitors enjoying the event.

Can You PLEASE tell me where or when can we SING UP FOR THE TURNAMENT? I've been rereading this a few times but cant find any info on that....

Ship point values have been changed with some ships going down in cost.

Details and signups will start next week, everything will be done with notice ahead of time so just keep an eye on the dev blogs and news and you can't miss it.

Good changes, although the B-team rule might be tricky to enforce.

The Inferno expansion will have arrived well before the tournament bringing new modules and changes with it. The blog details some of the effects on the tournament and we will address any issues that come up due to the new modules ahead of time. Obviously this does mean there's a chance of confusion as modules may be disallowed as we see their effect, we will strive to keep all teams informed of any changes.

In the past we have invited the top teams from the previous tournament directly, bypassing the qualifying stage to guarantee we have some of the best and most respected teams fighting in the final weekend. We have made the specific decision this year not to do this. All teams must go through the same process.

Please try to have commentators in all matches, they are really nice and fun to listen to, and add to the overall enjoyment of the AT.

This has to be a typo:

"3. All competing pilots must have been members of the alliance for which they are competing for from the date that signups close. For Alliance Tournament 10 this means that pilots must have been a member of their alliance before downtime on May, 05, 2012."


We don't even know how to sign up, and you wrote you would be announcing that next week ?

Streaming it, even without commentary, is awesome!

That said: would it be technically possible to allow 3rd parties like Eve Radio or New Eden Radio to comment (from the comfort of the commentator's own home)? So you'd send the video signal to the commentators, they rebroadcast (either to you or to the internet) with their commentary?
