I have been dabbling in t2 manufacturing for quite a while, but I have ideas to do a lot more of it.

Clearly the answer to my question will be "i need a pos" but wanted some advice anyway

so I want to make a t2 module, that module, if I make it 24*7 for a month will make me half a billion isk, for that I would need something like 250 10 run BPCs by my estimate, which means on average I will need something like 500 copies.

copies in a NPC station take something like 3 days for 20 bpcs, so I need something like 25 copying runs in a month on all ten slots to get enough BPCs.... - so full on copying in 8 days on all slots I have enough BPCs, is that right ?

a) does my math seem right
b) how much quicker does this get in a POS (in terms of number of days I save)

funny how this game can consistently make you feel like a noob :)

A pos is faster, but assuming you do not have one now, youll need that capital to start. You can stack up a lot of bps in a short time though. But unless your invention time is large, you'll run out of 500 copies quickly. One inventor could burn through those in a weekend.

What I do is have 4 alts just do mass copies in low sec and continually que them up. Wait times are lower and it's a low maintenance process. I just have evemon alert me when they are done. So I just save stacks of them.

Advanced labs, which have 3 copy slots, and where you'll probably do the bulk of your copying, have a 0.65 multiplier to time. Mobile labs, which have 1 copy slot (but 5 invent slots) - you might use these occasionally dependent upon your setup, have a 0.75 time multiplier for copying.

This is one of my "paper cut" pet peeves as every other lab activity, ME research, PE research, invention has identical time multipliers across all different lab types.

I buy lots and lots and lots and lots of BPC. I couldn't possibly make all the copies I use.

Yeah, it seems you either end up with too many BPCs sitting around or not nearly enough. It's something that can easily become a bottleneck for production.

when using an NPC station you have to take into consideration the installation wait time for the slot to become available (in the regions I frequent this is roughly 15 days). Meaning each copy run will need an additional 15 days added to it, so a 30 day (max run available in NPC stations) would generate roughly 200 bpc's in 45 days. So you would need 2 sets of 5 BPO's at any given time to keep from running out of bpc's.

Don't forget to factor in how many of these modules you can actually sell every month. You don't want to overproduce, especially if you have a limited amount of liquid ISK for running your production. You don't want to be sitting there with no ISK to reinvest waiting for your market orders to sell. It's best to diversify, and focus on 4-5 different products. I'd also suggest you be ready to swap out some modules for others as prices change. If prices drop on this one item you're going to be losing a lot of money, but if you're building 5 things and one drops in price, it won't hurt as much. And if you have prepared ahead of time for price drops and can just swap building that module for a different one, it won't hurt you at all.

The market is fluid, and to be a successful industrialists, regardless of whether it's tech 1 or tech 2, you need to be fluid and diversified. Otherwise you'll be settling for negligible profits.

Just buy them in bulk off contracts.
I have a good side business going, where my alt copies a whackton of BPOs, and I sell them off on contracts. It's basically paying for the skillbooks they're burning through. They normally shift pretty quickly.

Alternatively, train up research alts.
