You're making the assumption that a WH system is readily accessible via ships with jump engines. If I recall ;-) jump engines require fuel, and given the "unknown" part of WH space (as in we don't know HOW FAR they are from your current position), I'm all for allowing caps to "jump" into wormholes given to possibilities:
1) You run out of fuel somewhere between point A and point B, stranding you forever in that location. You don't have any fuel, so you can't jump BACK and you can't jump FORWARD

Here's some info on why its not possible to jump drive into a wh system.

Jump Drive Range

And POS use to show distance between 2 towers.

Project Compass

Preliminary Results

All Anoikis systems surveyed have been located in a cluster approximately 1250-1350 light years from the center of New Eden. This cluster is roughly located to the galactic southeast of New Eden, in approximately the same plane, though perhaps slightly lower than New Eden. Further analysis of the results are available here.

As you pointed out its a problem of not having enough fuel and not knowing where you will end up.

Lulz, I find project compass ridiculous given that you just run a single database query and you will get all distances between wspace systems and new eden.

You're assuming too much in your idea; perhaps refine that idea. And the idea of "mapping" all WHs is just bad in my mind. You're removing the Unknown part, which is most of the flavor of this (I never use cheat sites, either).

This too, the data is in the database dump, it's been mapped to **** and back.

But new eden systems are too far for jump drives to reach wspace, wspace to wspace however are often in range. In fact you can light a cyno in a system that is in range and it will appear in capital's jump to menu by being in range. However, you will get a nice "Destination Unknown" popup.

Don't get me wrong; scanning for a new exit/entrance every other day is not that time consuming, but what if there were another way to leave/enter the wormhole?

There's one method to enter, and two to leave.

More than enough in my opinion.

I like my w-space with as little similarity to null sec as possible.

Acceleration Gates fling ships into a deeper space in various systems that sometimes require a second acceleration gate to get out because warp is no longer available. So, why can't wormhole dwellers have the same thing; a gate that is inside the -1.0 space, that allows them to be flung to another gate that is residing outside.

A static exit/entrance would just be, I think, a brilliant addition to the wormhole lifestyle; it would be the poor man's jump bridge.

Of course, there would be security safeguards; corporation only, passwords, etc, etc.

Could be worth considering.

i dont think there should be an easy way out or a damn stargate...

however, jump capible ships should be able to jump to other holes provided they are close enough and and have cyno avil...

the wormholes should be mapped in relation to known space... they themselvs dont move just the exits/destination...

that will make for some real cap ship blobbing...

better then an easy button its like a scary button Shocked
With this you could build capitals in a C1 and jump them to C6 and out of W-space. Would be funny.

What if using a jump engine would take away your ships Shields + Armor, leaving you with the hulls HP only. It would be so much fun.

Unrelated thought: I would like to have a structure that you anchor which prevents ships from cloaking systemwide and reduces D-scan radius by 10x and scan probes strength by 4x. Structure shield HP 500.000. Can be anchored anywhere. (no AFK cloaking in WHs, but would make everyone short sighted :D)

Disagree. Wormholes, I think, were designed for up and coming corps. A step between highsec and nullsec with a twist. Personally I think you should take your capital blob fest dreams to null sec and keep them out of our wh's.
