Hello people, i bought EVE almost 2 days ago and i feel like im getting nowhere.
I met somebody that first killed me and because of that i lost my ship and that wasnt realy nice but lateron he contacted me and ended up helping me out but he plays this game since 2005 and the way he explains things to me on what to do is just way to complicated.
Oke so firstoff i started just mining a little and selling the ore after my ship was full, but since people tell me thats a very nooby way to make money i stopped haha.
So this guy is helping me in combat and i kinda like it even though i have no idea where to kill npc's outside of missions, and its very hard since i dont know how to control my ship that well yet but i will learn that later.
So where do i go from here? i realy like mining but he told me i will need 2 accounts to mine efficiantly and that mining on just this account isnt realy worth it, is that true?

I joined a corperation but they are to busy themselfs to realy help me out, so can anybody tell me what i need to do now to make progress?
Thankyou Pirate

No im not trolling.
I made a trial account back in december and rushed through the tutorials but due to my computer being broken and a not so nice family situation i forgot about eve and moved on, now 2 days ago i remembered i made a trial account and i decided to buy the game :)
But now im just lost and i realy have no idea what to do.

Thankyou, that link is exactly what i was looking for, lots of info packed in a little guide :) thanks.
I guess i should have done a little more research myself so im sorry for that, it was just a bit frustrating that i started and got killed right off the bat when i finaly got a nice little ship together :(

Hahaha yeah that is true xD.
One question though, when i created this character i chose Gallente - Gallente - Miner. if you know what im talking about, like when you create your character and you choose the background and bloodline etc.
Does this have any impact on my character itself? like if i go combat does that mean im weaker because my bloodline is miner?

nope, it used to years ago if i've read it right, but not now. You can train up any race type ship you like

No, race etcetera has zero impact on the game. You can fly everything and do everyhting as well as anyone else.

Don't worry about making mistakes in the beginning, but stay out of lowsec untill you understand the game a little bit and you should be ok.

Alright, awesome :) was a little worried there that i might chose the wrong stuff.

Btw can i be a miner AND a fighter/combat or will that cause problems?

Hi Klaas,

I'm just 3 days into the game so new like you - also Gallante & doing a little mining too so if you'd like add me as a contact it would be great to chat whith a fellow new miner.

I watched lots of survival vids on ytube which helped lots before I started.

Take care mate & happy mining :-)
