If you're THAT upset by Eve Skunk, and believe it's violating "the law" ... have your lawyers get a hold of me... please have them contact legal@eveskunk.com ... and we'll talk...

Your content in game, as you agreed to in the EULA, is owned by CCP and you have NO EXPECTATION of privacy....

Quote:
Except for certain information in your Account (discussed below), all transmissions by you to the System are not private. You acknowledge and agree that you have no expectation of privacy regarding communications you make in the Game, whether through private in-Game messaging, during chat, or in chat rooms. CCP and/or its designated affiliates and representatives may monitor communications made by or received from you. You should not provide private information to any other player in the Game. CCP shall not be responsible for the consequences of any such disclosure by you.

ANY QUESTIONS?

Eve Skunk is providing a service to the individuals on the website in order to publish their emails at their discretion. If a person would like to NOT have it published, all they have to do is DELETE their API key.

If an alliances do not like it, they need to do a better job at:

1) Security
2) Creating Loyalty
3) Securing Communication

So... instead of crying about the emails being leaked, recruit better, don't be jack asses to people and learn how to pass sensitive information in a secure way.

To EVERYONE else that has made Eve Skunk so popular literally OVERNIGHT, YOU GUYS ROCK!

Get more keys on there!

Looks like this eveskunk scrapes for emails using the username and passwords.
I am sure that is NOT allowed right?

If they're trying to drill into EvE accounts, then it's certainly not allowed (or even legal). EvESkunk should watch their back, because they're on shaking grounds here.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

The script pulls the emails from the API by using access to the new customizable API through the MailBodies/MailHeaders function or the legacy full api. Nothing else. All APIs to the best of my knowledge are submitted with permission of the user in question. If there is any question, users can go check their API log and determine if that account is being pinged by eveskunk.com. If the user would like that to stop, they can DELETE or CHANGE that key, and the access will be cut off.

In other words, if you don't know what you're talking about, don't.

Morons.

Here is how it works.

SOMEONE (anyone in the ENTIRE ALLIANCE. This includes regular noobs and line members) can click on EveSkunk.com's "Add an API"

Then, using the API that was added consensually (that means they weren't forced or coerced, and there is nothing shady about how it works) the site pulls that persons messages and mailboxes. This includes Alliance Mail.

The instant that member is no longer in your corp/alliance, those mails will stop showing up.

The instant that member deletes their custom API that they added, those mails will stop showing up.

If the API provided doesn't have "Messages" checked when creating the API, those mails will never show up.

If the API has an expiration date, when that date lapses, those mails won't show up.

Eveskunk is doing nothing illegal or against the rules. It's the same process you all use to have EveMon pull your stats, implants, current wallet balance, contracts, market transactions, and (yes) your mail. (EveMon CAN see new messages)

Get your heads out of your asses.

I'm not an idiot don't upset me :( i had a stroke :(

Anyways, CCP has obviously changed the API i did not know that. In the past you could only access the email title though the API and not the content. Why on earth would CCP upgrade the API to read email content? surely they seen this coming?

Yup, TEST went on one of the TS3 servers listed on there, we didn't hack obviously as the password was there for everyone to use. Lol

Idiots, having an API isn't hacking it's stealing!

You MANUALLY ADD your API to the page YOURSELF (as in a program doesnt steal it from you) ISNT stealing its YOU FAULT

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Wow. Another reason to hate Eve and Eve players. Exposing people's in game mails is just one more way to make the game as unfriendly as possible. As usual, it's presented as, harden up, do better security, treat people better - what does that mean, anyway? Be nice to that spoiled brat who might give your api key to the whole world? And the smugness of those who are doing all this for our own good, to teach us better security. More thugs. More ways to bully. More ways to betray. Congratulations to the scum, really. You're making a paradise for yourselves.

All of these e-nerds are just mad they didn't think of this web service first. This is probably one of the best trolls via web app I've ever seen.

Pfft, it doesn't even support showing calendar events. Oops, did I give them ideas? Pirate

I don't think the API exposes the bulletin board or fittings yet. Too bad Cry CCP, get on that.

Let's see if we can make every in game communication tool that CCP gives us useless!

Thought about it... but probably won't be the next feature I implement.
